RQ: Is online learning as effective as face-to-face learning in learning Mathematics ?
Research Title: Online vs. Face-To-Face Learning: Evidenced from students’ Academic
Performance during Covid-19 Pandemic
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning as compared to
face-to-face learning in terms of third year and fourth year students’ academic
performance in Mathematics at Western Mindanao State University-Ipil External Studies
Units, Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay of school year 2021-2022.
Specifically, this study shall seek to answers to the following questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of third year and fourth year Math students of WMSU
in terms of:
a. Sex
b. Course and Year Level, and
c. Grade Point Average
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of online vs. face-to-face learning?
3. What are the students level of engagement and learning efforts during online vs. face-to-
face learning?
4. Is there significant relationship between online learning or face-to-face learning and
student’s final point average?

Pandemic?
Research Title: Factors Affecting Students Dropout Rate in WMSU-IPIL S.Y 2021-2022
First Semester
This study generally aims to determine the factors affecting students drop out rate
during Pandemic at Western Mindanao State University-Ipil External Studies Units, Ipil
Zamboanga Sibugay of school year 2021-2022 during the first semester.
Specifically, this study shall seek to answers to the following questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of students of WMSU-Ipil in terms of:
a. Sex
b. Course and Year Level
2. What are the possible reasons why students decide to drop out in school at this time of
pandemic?
3. What are the suggested ways to reduce the dropout rate in WMSU during Pandemic?
4. Is there significant factors affecting students dropout rate in WMSU-IPIL S.Y 2021-2022
First Semester?

RQ: Does test anxiety affects students’ academic performance in mathematics?
Research Title: Test Anxiety: Its Effect on BSED- MATH 2 Students’ academic
performance in Calculus
This study generally aims to determine the effects of text anxiety on
BSED-Math 2 students to their academic performance in Calculus at Western
Mindanao State University-Ipil External Studies Units, Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay
of school year 2021-2022.
Specifically, this study shall seek to answers to the following questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of BSED-MATH 2 of WMSU-Ipil in terms
of:
a. Age
b. Gender
2. What is the level of test anxiety of BSED-Math 2 students?
3. What is the academic performance of BSED-Math 2 students of WMSU IPIL?
4. Is there significant effect on the academic performance of BSED-Math 2 students
of WMSU IPIL when they have test anxiety?

Research Title: Challenges of E- learning during the Covid -19 Pandemic Experienced
by WMSU-Ipil Math Instructors
This study generally aims to determine the challenges faced by WMSU-Ipil Math
Instructors in teaching during Covid-19 Pandemic at Western Mindanao State University-
Ipil External Studies Units, Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay of school year 2021-2022.
Specifically, this study shall seek to answers to the following questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of Math Instructors of WMSU-Ipil in terms of:
a. Age
b. Gender
c. Subject/s taught
2. What is the difficulties experienced by WMSU-Ipil Math Instructors while conducting
online classes?
3. How does the WMSU-Ipil Math Instructors overcome those challenges?
4. Is there significant effect on the WMSU-Ipil Math Instructor’s teaching effectivity while
conducting online classes when faced with different challenges due to COVID-19 Pandemic?
