Computer 1stQ Lesson 4 - The Data and Data Processing Cycle in Computers
The document discusses the data processing cycle in computers. It explains that the data processing cycle refers to how all the information gathered is processed by computers. The cycle includes input, where data is entered into the computer; processing, where the CPU processes the data; output, where the results are shown on monitors or printed; and storage, where the data and information is kept for future use.

Lesson 4:
The Data and Data
Processing Cycle in Computers Computers also have a cycle, and this cycle refers to the processing of all the information we gathered going to the computer . This is what we call the Data Processing Cycle.
Computers help in processing data faster. This way,
people get the information quickly.
What is Data?
Data comes in different forms. When all these data are
gathered and processed, they become information. We get information when data is gathered and processed accordingly.
Look at the data we gathered. What information
can you get if you analyze or process the data?
How many quizzes did Ethan pass?
Answer: How many quizzes did Ethan fail? Answer: What math process do you need to get the total score of Ethan? How long did you get the results? Do you think it would have been faster if you used a device like calculator? INPUT – this is the step where you enter all the data you collected inside the computer using input devices such as keyboard and mouse.
PROCESSING – The computer does most of the processing needed.
We basically give the computer a command by clicking a button using the mouse or entering keys using the keyboard. Inside the System Unit is the Central Processing Unit which serves as the brain of the computer that processes data.
OUTPUT – After the data is processed, the result will be shown on
the monitor and can be printed using a printer. This is the output stage. STORAGE – This is the stage where you keep the data and information, which you might need in the future. There are several computing storage devices that you can use like USB flash drive, hard disk, and memory card.
