it is a body of knowledge devoted to creating
tools,processing actions and the extracting of
materials.
it is an application of science used to solve problems
in terms of business Technology helps to create new
products for their consumers and to stay competitive
not just locally but globally.

 a practice of embarking on a new business venture or existing business
by combining different resources in order to develop new opportunities.
 Creating the “New” and destroying the “Old”:
o New knowledge

Definition of Technopreneurship
Technopreneurship is a new breed of
entrepreneurship that involves the collaboration of
people who are intelligen, determined, creative,
technology savy and passionate in dealing with
risk and functions as a team.
Technology + Entrepreneurship = Technopreneurship

Who is an Entrepreneur?
An innovator or developer who recognizes
and seizes opportunities; converts these
opportunities into workable/marketable ideas;
adds value through time, effort, money or skills;
assumes the risks of the competitive
marketplace to implement these ideas; realizes
the rewards from these efforts.
Types of Entrepreneur
1. Innovative Entrepreneur
• a person that have such a great passion in discovering and
developing new product, new ideas and new processes.
• risk taker and enjoy challenges
2. Imitating Entrepreneur
•a person who immediately copy the existing products made
by the innovative entrepreneur because there is no such new
inventions or new innovations.
•imitate the technology, process and methods pioneered by
the others.
Types of Entrepreneur
3. Fabian Entrepreneur
• a type of person that is skeptical about the changes that
will be made in the organization.
• not a risk-taker as they wanted to anticipate success in
the market first before indulging into the next project as
they are not willing to have financial loss due to its failure.
4. Drone Entrepreneur
• are person reluctant to change as they are happy with the
result of their business even if they have financial losses
Who is a Technopreneur?
• An entrepreneur who uses cutting-edge technology to
develop new business.(Daniel Mankani, 2003).
• Is an entrepreneur who involves himself in technological
changes in producing goods and services for his
organization. (Sarimah Hanim & Abd. Rashid, 2008).
• They are entrepreneurs who used “technology” as their
driven factor in transforming resources into goods and
services, creating an environment conducive to industrial
growth” …
Five Traits of Technopreneur
1. Strong Communication Skills that Close Deals
Communication plays an important role in determining
success by convincing sponsors, different organization and
prospective clients to help a technopreneur to pursue his
idea and product.
2. Product Management Knowledge
It is a big deal that he knows the overall product so that it
will be easier to explain and encourage the clients or
sponsors.

3. Deep Technical Understanding
A technopreneur should know how to be technology savvy
to be able to compete with others, be competitive and
understand the dynamics of your market.
4. Take Big Risks
Technopreneur must have to take risks as not all idea or
product are meant to be successful in the business world.
5. Persistence
staying positive in all aspects of life is possible if there will
be challenges and odds along the way, hard road is next to
success.
