What is Assessment?
The process of finding out how much each student
knows or can do.
2 TYPES
1. Formative assessment (Diagnostic)
 Done during the course.
 Provide feedback to the student on his/her progress.
 Provide feedback to the teacher with data for
modification of his/her teaching.

2. Summative assessment (Certifying)


 Done at the end of period.
 For placing the student in order of merit.
 During giving any certificate.
Why Assessment ???
 Ranking of student.

 Measurement of improvement in a student.

 To diagnose student difficulties.

 Evaluate method of teaching

 Motivate student to study.
