Crossman (2018) defines qualitative research as “a

type of social science research that collects and
works with non-numerical data and that seeks to
interpret meaning from these data that help us
understand social life through the study of targeted
populations or places.”

of research.
Ethical Principles of Research

1. Honesty:
Honestly report data, results, methods and procedures, and publication status. Do
not fabricate, falsify, or misrepresent data.
2. Objectivity:
Strive to avoid bias in experimental design, data analysis, data interpretation, peer
review, personnel decisions, grant writing, expert testimony, and other aspects of
research.
3. Integrity:
Keep your promises and agreements; act with sincerity; strive for consistency of
thought and action.
Let’s focus now with Qualitative Research
Qualitative Research…involves finding out what

people think, and how they feel - or at any rate, what
they say they think and how they say they feel. This
kind of information is subjective. It involves feelings
and impressions, rather than numbers (Bellenger,
Bernhardt and Goldstucker).

Title should include words about your topic.
Constructing the best title of your study:

1. It should be interesting.
2. It tells the reader what is the study all about.
3. It uses common words that are relevant.
4. It includes key words that are easy to understand.

gives your readers a road map of what they can expect
in reading your paper.
Purpose of the Study - The research purpose is a

statement of "why" the study is
being conducted, or the goal of the study.
