HORIZONTAL VIBRATING SCREENS
INTRODUCTION
It is a device made with a horizontal screening surface
vibrated mechanically at high speeds and used specially for
screening ore, coal, or other fine dry materials.
WORKING
• WORKING PRINCIPLE:
Horizontal Vibrating Screens are equipped with two or three vibrating motors rotating in
opposite directions. This dual motor configuration in the Horizontal Vibrating Screen causes
the screens frame to vibrate in a linear or straight-line motion perpendicular to the plane of the
motors.

• When two vibratory motors of the same

frequency are fixed to a rigid common base,
which is freely suspended, or supported and
run in opposite directions to each other, they
automatically synchronize to produce a
straight line motion. When this motion is
applied to a horizontal Vibrating screen, the
result is a horizontal action screens suitable for
screening, conveying and dewatering of a large
variety of products in limited headroom
situations
ADVANTAGES :

• Large processing capacity and small installation height.

• Increased suitability on portable plants.
• Produces a consistent material travel speed along the entire length of the deck.
• The screen can also be configured to enable a slower travel speed than inclined screens for
higher efficiency.
• Additionally, Horizontal Screens typically offer better efficiency (accurate particle sizing)
than Inclined Screens because the material is retained on the screen longer, with a slower
travel rate to the end of the screen. This allows more properly sized material to fall through
the screen openings.
• they are more often seen as tertiary (third stage) and/or finishing screens.
PROBLEMS AND MODIFICATIONS
In daily production, vibration screen will encounter a variety of problems, such as poor screening quality,
bearing overheating, abnormal sound and so on.

1) Screen hole blockage

When the mud content and water content in the feed are high, the material will stick to the sieve hole and block the sieve
hole. At this time, the sieve hole should be cleaned first, and then the spray amount and the inclination angle of the sieve
surface should be adjusted appropriately

2) too thick material on screen

The excessive thickness of material on screen may be caused by the increase of feeding quantity, blocking of screen hole
and small inclination angle of screen surface. At this time, it should be adjusted according to the specific situation.

 3) Bearing oil shortage or excessive, oil pollution or inconsistency

the bearing temperature should be kept between 35 and 60. If the bearing temperature is too high during the test run, there
may be such problem of oil pollution or bearing oil shortage. At this time, the bearings need to be oiled, cleaned, replaced
and sealed to check the quality of oil and oil injection.
