 Basketball is a type of team sport, which generally consists of two

teams of five players each, who compete against each other on a
rectangular court. The main goal is to score as many points as
possible, which is achieved by putting the ball into the basket while
trying to make the opposing team score as few points as possible.
 Košarka je vrsta timskog sporta, koji se uglavnom sastoji od dva tima od po pet igrača, koji se
takmiče jedan protiv drugog na pravougaonom terenu. Osnovni cilj je postići što više poena, što
se postiže ubacivanjem lopte u koš dok se pokušava da protivnička ekipa postigne što manje
poena.

centimetara. Koš vredi jedan poen kada se šutira slobodna bacanja, dva poena kada se šutira

colleges play four ten-minute quarters. The long break after two
quarters lasts fifteen minutes, and the break between two quarters
lasts two minutes. If the game is tied after four quarters, one overtime
of five minutes is played. If the match is still tied after one overtime
period, overtime periods continue until a winner is determined. The
teams change baskets (sides) after two quarters have been played.
The clock moves while the ball is in play; when the ball is out of
bounds or not in active play, the clock stops. This is precisely why the
matches last approximately 2 hours.
 Utakmica se igra četiri četvrtine od deset (međunarodna košarka) ili dvanaest minuta (NBA). Fakulteti igraju dva poluvremena
po 20 minuta, dok većina koledža igra četiri četvrtine od deset minuta. Duga pauza posle dve četvrtine traje petnaest minuta, a
