RECALL ‘NEW
MEDIA’
NEW MEDIA

in relation to imagery and sound from media
in their traditional forms.

and mobile apps via smartphones/tablets.
NEW MEDIA
TECHNOLOGY

Streaming
-pertains to real-time
consuming of media content as
it is currently being delivered.
In music, people used to buy CDs,
but now we can easily access music
through downloading or sharing
from one gadget to another.
However, it is illegal. It is called
piracy.
NEW MEDIA
-is also interactive.
-Ex. Wikipedia is an online
community-driven project you
could sign up and contribute or
edit content.

A smartphone has a multifunction.
Multimedia also refers to the way multiple
types of media could be created, stored,
and transferred via digital technology or the

known as the big media company, one media
company could own smaller companies that
produce different types of media. (Walt

soundtracks, books or comic versions of the
film, and even merchandise.
-maximizing the economic opportunities within
its conglomerate.
-crosses over non media platforms (fast food
chain tie ups, toy manufacturer or fashion retail

In this age, synergy becomes
far-reaching as the existence
of a specific media product
gets enhanced exposure
online.

graphic novel or comic series on the web.
-These are stories that unfold across multiple
media platforms, with each medium making
