Introduction
Recently, healthcare surveillance systems incorporating cutting-edge technologies have emerged as a
cause for concern across various nations globally. Over the past few years, there has been notable
progress in healthcare technology, largely attributed to the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). The
pervasive influence of computing has introduced a transformative shift in the healthcare sector.
Consequently, healthcare professionals are delivering enhanced services to the community through the
utilization of IoT-based devices, although not to their fullest extent. The complete potential of IoT in
healthcare is yet to be used, and its impact and applications remain underexplored.
Concerns and Problems
In the current healthcare landscape, a range of challenges has arisen, creating obstacles for specific individuals in obtaining essential medical aid.

• Several healthcare providers adhere to conventional office hours for patient visits, which may not be practical for working adults or parents. A clinic
operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. might not accommodate those with demanding work or school schedules, emphasizing the necessity for convenient office
hours.

• Recent statistics from the American Hospital Association (AHA) reveal that approximately 3.5 million patients forego necessary care due to challenges in
accessing transportation to their healthcare providers. The significance of transportation as a crucial social determinant of health has gained considerable
attention on a international scale.

• The 2023 survey indicates that 46 percent of adults globally identify access to treatment and/or long waiting times as the predominant issue in their
country's healthcare system. Another 46 percent of adults highlight the shortage of staff as the most significant problem.

This underscores the multifaceted nature of challenges within healthcare systems and emphasizes the importance of addressing these issues to enhance overall
healthcare accessibility and effectiveness.

Hypothesis
Our solution strives to create a highly accessible and efficient at-home system suitable for patients of all ages. This system
incorporates wireless sensors and an application to display the person's health report at regular intervals. It proves especially
beneficial for individuals living away from hospitals or in remote locations, saving both time and effort for doctors by
enabling them to attend to more patients.

The wireless sensors gather the patient's vital signs and transmit the data to an Arduino Uno, which, in turn, transfers the
information to the cloud using a WiFi module. Once stored in the cloud, the health data undergoes preprocessing and is
compiled into a comprehensive report detailing the patient's health status. This approach minimizes the treatment cost, as
patients no longer need to visit daily for readings of body temperature, SpO2, etc.

The system's wireless nature allows for easy deployment in various locations, facilitating doctors and healthcare monitors to
collect data from remote areas. A significant advantage is that doctors can simultaneously access the data from the Cloud IoT.
The system includes an application that displays the person's health report at specified intervals. Notifications are sent to both
the user and the administrator based on specific data conditions, ensuring timely communication about the user's current
health. Consequently, this system offers quality healthcare to everyone, fostering error-free and seamless communication
between patients and healthcare staff.

Impact
The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the landscape of healthcare, offering patients of all ages an
unprecedented level of enhanced medical services. Smart technologies integrated into medical devices, such as
pacemakers, provide internal surveillance capabilities that were previously unavailable.
Looking forward to 2025, the potential impact of remote monitoring is substantial. The enhancement of the health of
individuals with chronic conditions is anticipated to generate up to $1.1 trillion in value annually through remote
monitoring.

Moreover, the projected expenditure on Healthcare IoT solutions is poised to reach an impressive $1 trillion by 2025.
This substantial investment is expected to pave the way for highly personalized, accessible, and timely healthcare
services catering to individuals of all age groups.

Real-time monitoring stands out as a primary advantage of IoT in medical care, allowing continuous tracking of
everything from vital signs to medication adherence. This continuous monitoring reduces the need for frequent visits to
medical professionals or doctors, as the real-time data facilitates better condition tracking. This not only enhances the
overall patient experience but also leads to substantial cost savings.
The effectiveness of IoT in healthcare, by minimizing hospital stays and readmissions, translates to lower costs..
Through remote monitoring and the timely interventions it enables, seniors can actively participate in managing their
health while concurrently reducing healthcare expenses.
Our solution to universally accessible healthcare systems with the
integration of artificial intelligence is with accordance to the
sustainable development goals 3

Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) aims to ensure healthy

lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. The goal focuses
on addressing major health challenges, and also calls for
universal health coverage, ensuring that everyone has access to
essential health services without facing financial hardship.

By prioritizing preventive measures, strengthening healthcare

systems, and promoting research, SDG 3 seeks to create a
healthier world and contribute to sustainable development
Conclusion
The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology into the healthcare system marks a new era characterized by innovation and
efficiency.
Using IoT, smart healthcare systems provide continuous monitoring, enhanced data collection, and improved access to medical
services. The potential for remote monitoring is huge, providing tailored and rapid medical solutions that are especially beneficial
for the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
The cost-effectiveness of IoT in healthcare, along with its ability to reduce hospital stays and readmissions, not only improves the
overall patient experience but also leads to significant cost savings.
Moving forward, the continued development and integration of IoT in healthcare has the potential to shape a more connected,
accessible, and patient-centered healthcare environment, contributing to the better health care outcomes and a more sustainable
future for health care.
