    Definition of RNP-AR

    What is RNP-AR?

    It stands for Required Navigation Performance with Authorization Required,


    previously called RNP SAAAR.

    Any procedure using:

    RNP values≤ 0.3 NM and/or


    Curved flight path from the IAF up to the DA (RF: RADIUS TO FIX)
    Procedure with a protection areas limited to 2xRNP without any additional buffer
    A missed APPR proc with an RNP value ≤ 1NM

    Caution : RNP-AR approaches are designed to be flown with baro-VNAV capability

    In addition to the normal flight preparation, we need to check:

    GPS availability

    The use of Ground Based Prediction Program is required when less then 23 satellites are operative
    or RNP < 0.3NM is intended. However, in certain environment such mountainous terrain ,
    it may be required.

    Air Arabia signed a contract with NavBlue for YourRaim to cover this requirement.
    The dispatcher will let you know if the expected performance is not acceptable.

    In addition to the normal flight preparation, we need to check:

     Weather

    -Expected OAT ( Within the charted Tº range).


    -Significant Weather, i.e. thunderstorms as deviation cannot be possible sometimes
    (depending on MSA).
    -WIND at low level, specially with RF procedure as the bank angle is affected.
