INTRODUCTION
People communicate their mental states, such as emotions, thoughts, and desires,
through facial expressions, vocal nuances, and gestures.
Various equipment gathers data, which is then analyzed. Using this data for further
prediction is referred to as the "Theory of Mind Reading."
WHAT IS MIND READING?
These systems utilize digital video cameras to analyze facial expressions in real-
time, allowing for the inference of a person's underlying mental state.
Imagine a future where our technology seamlessly integrates with our mental states,
much like how keyboards and mice present text and commands. Picture mobile
phones, cars, and online services that can read our minds and respond to our mood.
Furthermore, these systems could monitor and offer suggestions to improve human-
human interactions, revolutionizing the way we communicate and collaborate.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Futuristic Headband
Mind reading involves measuring the volume and oxygen level of the blood around
the subject's brain using a technology called functional near-infrared spectroscopy
(fNIRS).

NASA has developed a computer program capable of silently interpreting spoken words by
analyzing nerve signals in the mouth and throat.
Biological signals are generated when reading or speaking to oneself, with or without visible
lip or facial movements.
In a 2011 study, researchers successfully translated brain waves into the movie clips people
were watching at the time.
In the initial sensor test, scientists trained the program to recognize six words, including
"go," "left," and "right," along with 10 numbers.
Next, researchers organized the letters of the alphabet into a matrix, with each column and
row labeled with a single-digit number.
Using this setup, individuals were able to silently spell out "NASA" by selecting the
appropriate letters from the matrix, which was then input into a web search engine using
the program.

It is used to measure electrical activity of the facial muscles. Muscles
used are “corrugator supercilii muscle” and others.

CONCLUSION
IBM asserts that mind reading is no longer confined to science fiction and predicts
the development of mind-reading computers within the next five years.
