In what ways does your product use, develop or change forms and conventions of real films
We have targeted the convention of romance and drama genre by mainly focussing on the micro-elements of sound. By using micro-elements it will help to make the film seem more authentic and original. We have also continuously edited our film to make it the best it can be and learned many types of editing techniques and elaborated to our film editing. By the time we shot the whole film and edited some parts, me and my partner realised our storyline was not clear; so as result we decided to use narrative at the beginning of the film and also a alter ego to end with the phone conversation. This helps to create tension and draw the audience attention by making them think a lot. After showing our classmates our film, we realised a couple people found it slightly confusing, especially the park scene they didnt understand what was going on. However we took this comment in a positive way because this would make the audience curious to watch more so that they kind find out about the scene and what would happen next.

Micro-element Sound
The way in which we have interpreted the micro-element sound is by focusing on Non-diagetic sound which could help to establish the genre, and build tension between the two characters in the film. This technique is commonly used by romance and drama films, they tend to use sad , passionate , love music to create some kind of connection between the genre and film. The Non-digetic sound we have used fades in slowly and quietly, it then gets slightly louder and begins to fade out after a minute and couple of seconds.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Jasmine plays the stereotypical high school prom queen , This is represented by her use of style, attitude and accessories. For example the phone she has; we choose it deliberately because its a common smart phone which is used by many teenagers throughout the country. In the beginning of the film we do not see Jasmines face straight away, the camera starts off with her feet slowly moving up to her knees as she moisturizer her legs, applying red nail vanish and putting lipstick on. We deliberately choose not to show her face, we wanted to portray her character has materialistic girl who her insecurity is eating her up. You know someone by seeing their whole face, to know the what they look like but if you looked at parts of a person face e.g. lips, eyes, hair you wouldnt identify the person straightaway. This is how our character feels she doesnt know who she is, shes lost her connection with the inner her, this kind of feeling is very common with teenager girls, when you look at them there beautiful, confident and popular however deep down they feel so selfdoubting and insecure. Also when we finally get to see her, we see her reflection the way she sees herself after putting so much make up, this also represent her character as someone stuck in a parallel world asking for help to escape within herself.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Focus features is the art house films division of NBCUniversal, and acts as both a distributor and producer for its own films and a distributor for foreign films: After spending the night together on the night of their college graduation Dexter and Em are shown each year on the same date to see where they are in their lives. They are sometimes together, sometimes not, on that day. This film relates to our film in many similar way, for example the two lovers in film face many challenges and obstacles to be together maybe not illness or status reason getting in the way but they do have barrier to knock down.

Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc., also known as Warner Bros. Pictures or simply Warner Bros. (though the name was occasionally given in full form as Warner Brothers during the company's early years), is an American producer of film, television, and music entertainment: Routinely exploited by her wicked stepmother, the downtrodden Sam Montgomery is excited about the prospect of meeting her Internet beau at the school's Halloween dance . This film links in with our film because it has similar romance forbidden love Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation (Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation, with hyphen, from 1935 to 1985) also known as 20th Century Fox, or simply 20th or Fox is one of the six major American film studios as of 2011. A poor and passionate young man falls in love with a rich young woman and gives her a sense of freedom. They soon are separated by their social differences . This film gave us many inspiration and ideas in developing our films, it was exactly the kind of film I wanted to make

Who would be the audience of the film

Our film can be watched by young adults such as the age of thirteen the reason for this is because the type of scene there are and some may not be appropriate for younger viewers. The genre of our film is romance and drama this may attract more female viewers rather than male viewers. However both genders can watch it and find it appealing. Our film is aiming to attract the viewer of film such as a The Walk To Remember, Notebook, The Vow, One Day etc. the reason why these viewer from these film would enjoy our film because the story lines are similar to our. For example: The Walk To Remember is the story of two North Carolina teens, Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan, who are thrown together after Landon gets into trouble and is made to do community service this is where the fall in love and get to know each other well. Similarly in our film jasmine is sent to community service in a community centre after she is falling gym class as for Jacob he help out at the community centre. This is where our character recognize each other and fall in love.

How did you attract/address your audience

Our film is based on young adult and teenager. The way in which our film attracts our audience is the sort of style our character has, our characters use of dialogue, this allows the audience to feel like they can relate to our characters. The key moment in our film that attract our audience the most is the part where jasmine is sitting on the swing waiting for someone, for a while and then receive a call from someone. It seem as if her and the caller are having an argument but you dont hear what their are saying. However the audience can hear her alter ego mentioning that she has been dumped, this is a common situation and draws the audience attention and sympathy towards the character

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product
we used a variety of equipment/software in order to create our final AS piece. - Blogger.com is used to keep record of each individuals research, techniques and evaluation. - Google.co.uk is a search engine which can be used in several ways. I used this to gather images, watch videos and gain access to other information needed for our piece. - Youtube.com helped us start our research into film openings so I could evaluate them. It also became of great help when finding a cheap way to create characters costumes/make up. - Freesound.org is a un copy righted music website where we downloaded a mixture of sounds to create a soundtrack using garage band. - Tripods help keep the camera steady though filming to keep a professional look. The tripods size can be adjusted. We used tripods in our piece - I movie was the software we used on the macs to edit and produce our piece in post-production. You can change/add sounds and adjust the video effects on each clip individually. Paint was used to crop photos such as our company logo, so that I could use them in windows movie maker or on my blog. Sony Camcorder was used to record our piece, for example the narrative In our film.

By spending several amounts of time using each piece of software/equipment to develop our film, I can now confidently say I know how to use everything in the list above. I mostly enjoyed editing our film using Imovie at first it was very challenging and annoying to use, but slowly I learned how to use. When I was using Imovie I learnt about the split-clips and audio and how everything can be cropped, cut, change colour and matched with audio I choose from freesound
