17th â 20th January 2011 | Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa | Orlando FL
Dear Colleague,
Iâm excited to unveil the program for IQPCâs brand new look Lean Six Sigma & Process Improvement Summit 2011. This year is a landmark
occasion, not only is the Summit in its 12th year but it marks a turning tide of radical change, innovation and growth, following arguably the worst
recession in decades. So to help support and encourage these ideals, this year brings together the best of breed in Business Process Excellence
thinking to help refocus you on what matters most to your business â operational, process and people excellence.
So whatâs different for 2011?
Put simply itâs a much bigger and more robust process event. Under the newly named banner of Profit Through Process Week, two events will take
place, firstly the Lean Six Sigma & Process Improvement Summit and secondly the 18th Annual Next Generation BPM Summit. The 4 days will
now give you a unique opportunity to share ideas and merge the best strategies for Business Excellence from across all three of the
Business Process Excellence core disciplines: Lean, Six Sigma & BPM. More than ever before itâs built to stretch your horizons to the wider
Operational Excellence field in order to define and create the next evolution in process thinking.
But donât worry, the original Lean Six Sigma Summit you know and love has not disappeared! The usual core Lean Six Sigma program draws on itâs
success from previous years and with the dual BPM Summit running alongside, itâs the perfect opportunity if youâre looking to accelerate beyond the
Lean Six Sigma outlook to enterprise wide frameworks with joint access to both meetings for just $100 extra. Why not take a look at what both
Summits have to offer!
Make sure you browse the 2011 agenda and keep your eye out for this yearâs must attend and exclusive summit content:
⢠Top rated PI Visionary Council returns with an updated line up including: Motorola, Lockheed Martin, Xerox, BP Group & New York State
Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance⢠The Disney Institute share the practical strategies behind the âChain of Excellenceâ (Last year the Disney workshop last year was a sell out
so make sure you book early to confirm your place on Service Quality workshop and site tour )⢠Stephen Spear, global expert on operational excellence and innovation shows you how to transform your organization into a high velocity
business to compete in todayâs competitive climate⢠Corporate Leaders boardroom: The exclusive chance to share leader-to-leader strategies for PI development with other top suite executive
and CXOâs
⢠New interactive Solutions Hall: Keep your eye on the next industry game changers with access to over 40 solution providers, networking
centers and live product demonstrations
I hope youâll take this opportunity to expand your horizons, share best practice and inject innovation into your existing Lean Six Sigma programs. In a
time of radical change, where the flagship industries of the future will emerge victorious, itâs never been more critical to ensure you are on the
cutting edge of developments and leading the way to transformation for your business.
See you in January.

Thinking
In this session Steve Towers, renowned
Business Process leader and founder of
the BP Group will walk through a
successful tried and tested model for
radically increased Customer

Based on Customer Experience
Management (CEM) and BPM
principles participants will learn how to
shift from an 'inside-out' to customer
centric 'outside-in' operational model
for increased competitiveness in
todayâs marketplace.
You will learn 6 key tools to aid
outside-in thinking:
â˘
Successful Customer Outcomes:
Turbo charge your business by
aligning with successful outcomes
â˘

Leveraging behavioral science:
Building leadership commitment
to Business Process Improvement
Has Has this
happened in your
organization? You
launch a Business
Process Improvement initiative
apparently with all the right
components; leadership commitment,
talented practitioners and a pipeline of
important projects. However, you soon
discover that you just don't get the
results you expect.
Youâre not the only one! In fact, many
Process Improvement projects donât get
fully implemented, sustain results or
achieve the required process and
behavior changes. Despite incorporating
change management techniques you
just don't get the results and
management ownership needed.
This workshop will help you change this
trend by integrating behavioral science
methodology and behavior-based
change management tools into all
phases of a project:
â˘
Highlighting continuous improvement
program performance and identify
improvement opportunities
â˘
Applying behavioral tools and

Process Improvement:
Integrating Constraints
Management with Lean Six
Sigma
The integration of Lean and Six Sigma
was the last real revolution in process
improvement strategy. Now, with most
of the low hanging fruit gone, leaders
are challenged to implement
breakthrough methods that produce
increasingly better ROI.
During this workshop, attendees will
participate in teams through a
dynamic, hands-on simulation to learn
how to integrate Constraints
Management to yield results that Lean
Six Sigma cannot produce on its own.
Participants will track the results for key
metrics and measure the difference.
Through a mixture of simulation
activities and interactive discussions this
workshop will focus on:
â˘
How to use Constraints Management
to find high-impact improvement
opportunities
â˘
Tools that leaders can apply to break
system constraints
â˘
Lessons learned from integration

This workshop will focus on how
Milliken implemented the Milliken
Performance System to sustain world-
class levels of safety performance
through associate engagement. It will
also show how both of these
disciplines are intertwined in a daily
management/performance system.
Through both the Milliken case study
and additional interactive scenarios
around safety and improvement
journey, youâll be able to analyze the
fundamental strategies behind a
successful and profitable Process
Improvement program.
Delve deeper into how to:
â˘
Apply a system-based rather than an
initiative-based approach for superior
business results
â˘
Achieve total engagement of the
workforce as the foundation for a
sustainable improvement program
â˘
Obtain leadership commitment and

The Ambidextrous Enterprise: Process
Excellence meets Innovation
Almost every corporation on our planet is on a
quest to outperform its rivals in two key business
activities; improve the performance of current
business, and create the future for the business.
The Process Excellence approach has provided a
clear roadmap and perfected a sustainable
approach to pursue the first set of activities. The
second set of activities â creating the future
through doing things different â is the mandate
of innovation. Most companies however, struggle
with balancing these key sets of activities. Only
very few companies, called âAmbidextrous
Organizationsâ, excel at delivering superior
performance at both of these sets of activities.
In this working group, we will discuss how to
simultaneously manage the ying and yang nature
of efficiency and creativity to meet the challenges
of tomorrow.
Key Learning Outcomes include:
â˘
Discovering a process based approach to
innovation
â˘
Developing an ambidextrous culture for
efficiency and creativity
â˘
Leveraging innovation approaches for next
generation Process Excellence

Implementing a sustainable World Class
Management framework
Lean, Six Sigma, TPM & WCM, without the
necessary Management System, are not
sustainable Improvement methodologies.
Sustainable business improvement requires a
complete system yet still most companies do not
have the required framework in place to effectively
implement the long term transformational process
required of the individual improvement
methodologies. Just ask yourself:
â˘
Are you relying on external or internal experts
for deployment?
â˘
Are you using lots of different improvement
methodologies that are not deployed
simultaneously across the business?
â˘
Do you have functional experts responsible for
different parts of implementation?
â˘
Are you struggling to measure the status of
deployment across all your sites in real time?
â˘
Do you have poor visibility of the organizationâs
implementation road map, for the next 5 to 6
years?
â˘
Do you suffer from frequently changing
methodologies, tools and management?
If you have answered yes to 3 or more questions the
chances are your CI initiative wonât be sustainable.
This workshop will allow you to not only identify
the gaps in your current program but also to help
you to build a more sustainable management
framework for continued World Class Results.

9.20 The High Velocity Edge: How market leaders generate and leverage
Operational Excellence to beat the competition
Across myriad sectors such as manufacturing, product design and services, some organizations are able
to generate far more value with far fewer resources and effort than their rivals. The resulting customer
delight generates market leadership despite intense competition. These 'high velocity organizations'
consistently win based on their capacity for generating and sustaining broad based, high speed,
relentless improvement and innovation. Even when others are stymied by the complexity of their work
and organizations, the leaders run solidly out in front. This session will tell you what you need to know to
become a high velocity organization.
In this high energy leadership session,
Stephen Spear, Author of the international blog, âChasing the Rabbitâ will:
â˘

8. 12.00 Live diagnostic tools assessment and benchmarking!
Where does your improvement program fit within the industry spectrum which ranges
from pockets of TPM, Lean and Six Sigma to building true end to end business
capabilities?
Recent research has shown that 70% of companies engaged with Lean Six Sigma are at a stage 2
or below in their maturity on a 5 point scale. A few industry leaders such as Proctor and Gamble

stage 4 and 5 maturity. Others such as Du Pont, Heinz and MillerCoors are currently transforming
their Improvement Management Systems to get beyond Lean and Six Sigma.
So, do you have a clear picture as to your programs strengths and weaknesses and where should
you be focusing your strategic improvement efforts on your PEX program?
For the first time Six Sigma IQ & CCI host a live benchmarking opportunity around the Profit
Through Process Weekâs community. Itâs up to you to get involved:

11.15 Achieving process based advantage in a competitive economy: How to make
high performance and growth a reality in your organization
Many companies may seem to be high performers in the short runâduring favorable economic
times, or through success with a particular product or marketâonly to rapidly decline when
business conditions turn against them. Standout high-performance companies build differentiated
business capabilities and sustained competitive advantage based on superior business process
design and execution. A process-based advantage delivers sustainable business performance
through
changing economic and market environments. It creates a foundation for business agility, high
quality and efficiency.
The next generation of organizational performance will focus on moving from issues to business
outcomes with pace, certainty and agility that generate competitive differentiation and
performance excellence.
In this session, discover how you can capitalize on this shift in thinking and effectively align your
business processes and enhance your operations performance by leveraging your capabilities in
Operations, Process and Innovation for a holistic approach to growth, profitability and long-term
competitive advantage:
â˘
Operations: Strategies to maximize your companyâ return on investment capital through design
and execution of the operations core to delivering value to customers

12.00 Lean vs. Six Sigma â the big debate LIVE at Profit Through Process Week!
Whist many have moved to a joint approach to Process Excellence the divide between Lean & Six
Sigma still exists. Lean purists see Six Sigma as a over complicated statistical model that is slow to
deliver results, and Six Sigma purist deem Lean as lacking in Quality control and structured
frameworks. With so many opinions in the market place how do you pick out the management
fiction from the real macoy? And secondly â does it matter what you call it?
â˘
Separating fad from fiction â dispelling the deployment myths from both sides of the table
â˘
Stripping it back to the bear bones: Can the two management models really co-exist and if so
what does the co-joined model look like? Is there a possibility youâll loose the value in both
along the way?
â˘

Strategic thinking happens in a number of different ways, formal

consider the thinking. Even thinking is a process. This session will

process with a strategic process assessment:
