It states that function/object budgeting is popular for aligning with financial reporting standards but lacks detail for assessing program effectiveness.
Lincoln's main argument against the war with Mexico was that it was unconstitutional and unnecessary. He believed the war was started under false pretenses and was really about the expansion of slavery into new territories, which he strongly opposed. Lincoln argued that the President did not have the authority to start a war without Congressional approval, making the Mexican-American War unconstitutional. He also did not think sufficient cause had been demonstrated to justify the war and invasion of Mexico. Lincoln saw the war as a way for slave states to gain more territory in the West where slavery could expand, a view that was unpopular at the time but demonstrated his early anti-slavery principles.
The document discusses the negative effects of egocentrism. It notes that while egocentrism allows some to achieve success, it can harm relationships and others. Specifically, it argues that an egocentric person may pursue transient pleasures over long-term relationships and commitment, and their unstable relationships can negatively impact empathetic friends and partners.
This document discusses strategies for overcoming a weak ground game as an offense. It notes that being in third-and-long situations due to an inability to gain yards on early downs does not have to cripple an offense. It cites the Chargers offense as an example of a team that relies on the passing game rather than establishing the run, but still uses backs as receivers to extend the ground attack. While the Chargers recently lost a key pass-catching back in Danny Woodhead, the document implies their offense can still succeed through the air despite a lack of success on the ground.

By July 1918, the entire family including Tsar Nicholas II, his wife and children, had been moved to Ekaterinburg where they were awakened in the night and executed in a basement along with their servants. Their bodies were disposed of in a mine, but were later discovered after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Canada gained independence from Britain gradually over time through constitutional amendments rather than a revolution or war. The British North America Act of 1867 established Canada as a self-governing dominion under the British empire with control over its own affairs. Over subsequent decades, Canada gained further autonomy and independence through statutes like the Statute of Westminster in 1931. By the 1980s, Canada was generally considered a fully independent country no longer under British authority, though it maintains the British monarch as its symbolic head of state.

Beyond the Advance Presentation for By the Book 9John Rodzvilla
In June 2020, L.L. McKinney, a Black author of young adult novels, began the #publishingpaidme hashtag to create a discussion on how the publishing industry treats Black authors: “what they’re paid. What the marketing is. How the books are treated. How one Black book not reaching its parameters casts a shadow on all Black books and all Black authors, and that’s not the same for our white counterparts.” (Grady 2020) McKinney’s call resulted in an online discussion across 65,000 tweets between authors of all races and the creation of a Google spreadsheet that collected information on over 2,000 titles.
While the conversation was originally meant to discuss the ethical value of book publishing, it became an economic assessment by authors of how publishers treated authors of color and women authors without a full analysis of the data collected. This paper would present the data collected from relevant tweets and the Google database to show not only the range of advances among participating authors split out by their race, gender, sexual orientation and the genre of their work, but also the publishers’ treatment of their titles in terms of deal announcements and pre-pub attention in industry publications. The paper is based on a multi-year project of cleaning and evaluating the collected data to assess what it reveals about the habits and strategies of American publishers in acquiring and promoting titles from a diverse group of authors across the literary, non-fiction, children’s, mystery, romance, and SFF genres.

The Jewish Trinity : Sabbath,Shekinah and Sanctuary 4.pdfJackieSparrow3
we may assume that God created the cosmos to be his great temple, in which he rested after his creative work. Nevertheless, his special revelatory presence did not fill the entire earth yet, since it was his intention that his human vice-regent, whom he installed in the garden sanctuary, would extend worldwide the boundaries of that sanctuary and of God’s presence. Adam, of course, disobeyed this mandate, so that humanity no longer enjoyed God’s presence in the little localized garden. Consequently, the entire earth became infected with sin and idolatry in a way it had not been previously before the fall, while yet in its still imperfect newly created state. Therefore, the various expressions about God being unable to inhabit earthly structures are best understood, at least in part, by realizing that the old order and sanctuary have been tainted with sin and must be cleansed and recreated before God’s Shekinah presence, formerly limited to heaven and the holy of holies, can dwell universally throughout creation

The movement from a drafted to an all volunteer force has proven to provide the Army of the United
States with some of its most impressive Soldiers. Whether Soldiers desire to join the military for the
pay, job security or answering the call to serve their country, these desires have become increasingly
obsolete in today s Army because of budget cuts. The Army will begin to lose quality Soldiers due to
continued pay cuts to military pay, basic allowance for housing and changes to retirement plans. On
March 2014, presented to Congress was a 495.6 billion dollar budget for the Department of Defense
(DOD). This newly presented budget is a 400 million dollar cut from the previous fiscal year (FY)

United States of America at any time. The budget will stand for continued advancements in protection

With that said, where would the 400 million dollar DOD budget cuts be made? According to the
United States Department of Defense Budget Request of Fiscal Year 2015 (DOD BR15) (2014), in
order to continue to build a readily available force to support the country s needs, budget cuts are
needed and will be made at the expense of the Soldiers. Military Soldiers and families are set to suffer
additional pay decreases due to the ongoing budget cuts from Capital Hill. First

3. Comparing Epic Of Gilgamesh And Noah And The Flood
A flood is an overflowing of a large amount of water beyond its normal confines. Characters including
the hero, the hero s family, gods, and animals plays a part in these stories. When observing the plots
there seems to be similarities and differences. There are also many important symbols to look out for.
In the narratives The Epic of Gilgamesh and Noah and the Flood both describe floods. Important
characters are mentioned. The main heroes are Utnapishtim and Noah where they both are worthy for
their god or gods. There are many gods involved with Utnapishtim whereas with Noah there is only
one. That city grew old and the gods that were in it were old (Epic of Gilgamesh 145). Animals seem
to have a major role for living.
Of every clean animal you shall take seven pairs, males and their mates, and every animal which is not
clean, two, a male and its mate; of the birds of the sky also, seven pairs, male and female, to keep seed
alive upon all the earth. (Noah and the Flood 172)

4. Why Did Gunsmith Shops Like Retail Shops
Gunsmith shops were not like retail shops today. Gunsmith shops were very small buildings typically
not on main streets of major towns. They usually built their shops out of stone because it was fire
resistance. They used gravel, flat stone, clay, or a mixture of these. They used this because of its strong
stainability to fire, and its long life span. The most basic shops had only two rooms. One for metal
working and one for wood working. The metal working room contained the forge and the wood
working room had many basic tools. Sometimes, their shops were located on their personal property.
As tensions arise between the colonists and the British, gunsmiths had to work longer hours and they
had to increase the amount of guns they made. In result, gunsmiths became staff mangers overseeing

5. Hypocotyl Length Of Garlic Lab Report
Effect of Colored Light on Hypocotyl Length of Garlic (Allium sativum)
INTRODUCTION
The hypothesis for the experiment is that garlic grown under blue filtered light will be the tallest,
while garlic under green light will be the shortest. The results of the plant under orange light will be
between green and blue light. A crucial component to plant growth is sunlight, which energy that
allows a plant to go through photosynthesis and produce glucose. Sunlight contains all of the colors of
the visible light spectrum, from red to violet, and each color has a different wavelength (Thiele, 2017).
When all the waves are seen together, they make white light. Light is essential in a plant s life.
Without light, a plant cannot grow, reproduce, or photosynthesize. Chlorophyll traps light energy from
the sun and absorbs primarily blue and red light, while reflecting green light (USCB, 2000). Plants
utilize the different colors found in the visible light spectrum to control different aspects of their
growth.
Blue light has one of the largest effects on a plant s development. Multiple studies have shown that
exposing a plant to this color influences the formation of chlorophyll, allowing the plant to intake
more energy. It also lessens water loss through evaporation during cellular respiration, helping the
plant to grow (Thiele, 2017). Different wavelengths of light can trigger or inhibit growth and
flowering in plants. Cryptochromes are proteins that are very sensitive to blue light

The Problems With Military Deployments
Even today, most American s are unaware about the problems that military families face. Right now
the United States military has a record breaking number of active duty parents deployed in various
military conflicts all across the world. The long conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan has majorly affected
many families. New research is showing the affects the deployments are having on military families,
especially how the children are being affected. Many of the children are having problems with their
education and also may have sociological problems. This is not a new problem, but only in the last

Lt. Taijeron s story is one that is mirrored by many other service members. Many deployed parents
also feel guilt when they miss significant events that occur in their children s lives. Many resources
suggest that loved ones should send many pictures or videos of the children, so that the service
member does not feel totally excluded in their children s life. Even though the Department Of Defense
and many private organizations have many resources and also have started many support programs to
help military families, many families still struggle to cope with the separations during long
deployments.
One effect that some military children face is the inability to focus on their education while they are
worried about their deployed or absent parent or other family member. In Lyle Amaani s article, Much
Traveled Military Children Enjoy Opportunities, Face Challenges , Navy Admiral Harry B. Harris Jr
states, It s no surprise that studies have shown that children of military parents are often more
vulnerable to fear and anxiety, and that those stressors manifest themselves behaviorally and
academically . Worrying about their parent on deployment can affect military children s grades and
cause them to not perform as well as their classmates in school. In a report

In addition, academics have attempted to explain stadium subsidies not only in terms of economic
returns, but intangible benefits as well. That is, there is clearly some social phenomenon in driving
stadium development in terms of the societal role of sports and/or the desire to build large, lasting
monuments or edifices. Eckstein Delaney (2002) discuss collective conscience and community self
esteem (p. 235) in terms of manipulative strategies used by pro stadium advocates, suggesting these
sociologic elements seem to override rudimentary economic arguments and commonsense. However,

The Cultural Challenges of Doing Business Overseas
This paper will provide an analysis of Steve Kafka s decision to open and operate a Chicago style
pizza business in the Czech Republic (University of Phoenix, 2011). This analysis will include
information on the cultural differences between the United States and the Czech Republic and how
these differences may affect the business climate. This paper will also review potential risks in doing
business overseas and what Kafka may be able to do to mitigate these risks. In addition, trade barriers
and price structures will also be discussed.

However, inclusion in the European Union and open borders may allow Kafka the opportunity to
secure imports more easily from other European countries.
Pizza Prices
One way for Kafka to do market research for his new business is to utilize information provided by
Euro monitor International. Euro monitor offers many different reports on different business sectors
and information such as Who Eats Out Where. This report has information on the number of
businesses, demographic information, and growth and trend information. If Kafka utilizes well
researched information on the food industry prior to creating his business plan and pricing structure, it
could provide a very solid foundation to build on. Kafka can also perform his own personal research,
and he can also conduct some focus groups with local residents on possible attitudes and price
information on a specialty pizza such has the Chicago style pizza. Kakfa should also investigate the
eating habits of the 3.8 million foreign tourists that visit the city each year.
Conclusion
Kafka has a new and exciting opportunity in opening his new pizza business in the growing and
expanding city of Prague. There are definite challenges such as the language barrier for him and
learning to better under the Czech mindset and cultural customs. Kafka is fairly well prepared already
speaking the language and having local residents as friends that can serve as his cultural guides. The

The female characters in William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream and John Webster s The

Regardless of the strength of the women, however, genre determines their fate those in the comedy

on her own terms. Furthermore, with her refusal of her father s arranged marriage, she acknowledges
that she cannot be bartered and sold like property, her hand would only be won by someone she

his only son down to Earth to die for us and give us a chance to enter heaven. We can t achieve

As we know that western culture and eastern culture is totally different. Not only the life style but also
the working style. There are many different kinds of examples about the culture in the workplace. To
know all the different culture between your own country and other country is important, so that we
will not offend to other people. Today we are going look at the different between western country and
eastern country. 2. Working style 2.1 Time focus It is very common to see employees pick up their

policeronic culture. Taiwan is polychronic culture, Taiwanese are emphasis on personal and doing
work more flexibility, they are willing to change the deadline when there is in need. So they can have
long term relationship with their colleagues, managers and partnership. People with monochronic
culture are more concentrate on time and would like to do a thing in one time. They prefer well
organized and stick on their plain. This is how monochronic culture works. (文匯報, 2012) Sweden is
monochronic culture, so employees do not like to be interrupted by phone calls during the meeting or
going to meet others in the meeting. They think this will influence their working schedule. 2.2

When one hears the term Child Labor , an image of children making low quality clothing in some
dingy third world sweatshop inevitably comes to mind. While this imagery is unfortunately founded in
fact, the third world is not the only area complicit with this heinous practice. Truthfully, we, as a
nation are also guilty of propagating this heinous practice. For over a century, this nation s youth were
subjugated to exploitation and abuse at the hands of captains of industry in the hopes of extracting
every ounce of profit they could. Fortunately, sympathetic individuals recognized the children s need
for advocacy and rose to their defense in the form of organized dissent that appealed to the highest
powers of this country to fight for those who could not fight for themselves. In this paper, we will look
at what exactly child labor is, the circumstances that gave rise to the widespread acceptance of child
labor usage, what working condition these children experienced, and how the United States eventually
made its use illegal.
What is Child Labor?
Child labor is historically defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and
their dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development (Hansan, 2013). Legally, to be
considered child labor, work must involve at least one of the following characteristics:
1. Violates a nation s minimum age laws
2. Threatens children s physical, mental or emotional well being

16. Burden Of Leadership In Lord Of The Flies
Burden of Leadership
In the words of William Shakespeare, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. In William Golding s
novel Lord of the Flies, many of the characters are faced with the responsibility of authority.
Throughout the events of the novel, Ralph tries to keep his power. Jack works to gain power and the
role of chief. Piggy, as opposed to Jack and Ralph, works to achieve respect. In the novel Lord of the
Flies, William Golding effectively conveys the idea that the responsibility of leadership can weigh
heavily upon those unfit for power, resulting in fractures throughout society.
The effect of authority is reflected in the character of Ralph, through his struggle to maintain his
power. After the hunters brag about killing their first pig, Ralph declares there was a ship. Out there.
You said you d keep the fire going and you let it out! (74). The authority he wields over the boys is
beginning to diminish through the boy s refusal to follow his orders. Ralph makes it clear they must
keep a fire burning in order to be rescued, yet the boys who are tasked with tending to it disobey their
command. As Ralph s power is pulled away from him, the majority of the boys turn to a leader who
they believe will protect them. During Ralph s flee from the savage camp, Sam and Eric warn Ralph
that they re going to hunt you down
to morrow (209). Ralph has been completely stripped of his position as chief, and has been painted as
the enemy in the other boys eyes. He was unable to maintain control over the position he was elected
into, causing disarray in the group s dynamic. Ralph is unable to use his power to benefit the
wellbeing of the island s society.
Another character who is incapable of using power positively is Jack. When the first assembly is being
called, Jack enters with the choir and shouts Choir! Stand still! (16). Even on the island, Jack
maintains his control over the choirboys and continues to give them orders despite their environment.
When the boys elect Ralph as chief, Jack is mortified. He believes he should be chief due to his head
boy status at school, and is taken back when the other boys don t vote for him. As the boys attitudes
begin to shift, Jack reaches for

20. The Pros And Cons Of Epigenetics
What makes one individual different from the other? Many have attempted to answer this question
from ancient philosophers and theologists to modern day scientists. Regardless of whether the
individual concerned is a cell or a whole organism, the answer is said to lie in the nature vs. nurture
debate. Thus arose another, related question How do individuals with extremely similar blueprints
develop an astounding amount of differences? Biological research attempting to settle the debate for
once and for all has found that differences amongst a cohort of individuals is established by an
interplay of both genetics (nature) and various environmental influences (nurture).

crying like a river, kissing my mother, and thanking her over and over for her honesty and the great
example she was to me. At that the moment I understood why she wanted to give the money back. It
belonged to the Principal who put the folder on my desk, while she was giving the last minute
announcement the day before. I had been in a hurry and I shoved the folder in my back pack by
accident. My mother never told me that what we did was called honesty. We never talked about the
incident. I learned by her example what the right choice was, and it changed my life forever.
Shakespeare once said, Honesty is the best policy. If I lose my honor, I lose myself. From his quote, it
is clear that Shakespeare thinks honor is more important than anything else in life. Honesty is a virtue
that is uniquely valued by human beings as well by our Heavenly Father. Being honest often requires
courage and sacrifice, especially when others try to persuade us to justify dishonest behavior.
Being honest ha Pros and Cons and some of them are the following:
Pros:
People respect you and trust you. They know you are a person with integrity.
People want to be your

25. Paramedic Personal Statement
A paramedic is one of the first healthcare professionals on the scene of an emergency. Using a variety
of lifesaving techniques, their job is to stabilise the patient for hospital transfer and definitive
treatment. This selfless way of life sparked my interest in front line emergency medicine and I have
sought out every opportunity to help me achieve my goal of becoming a paramedic.
Wishing to obtain a practical insight into administering first aid, I have studied towards and achieved
the St John s Youth First Aid and St John s Activity First Aid qualifications. To push myself further, I
have taught the St John s Youth First Aid course and the St John s Heart Start course for the last 3
years, alongside a paramedic. In order to gain a more practical experience, I joined a local First Aid
group, and achieved my First Aid at Work qualification. I have since provided first aid cover at several
show jumping and athletic events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

paramedic s role so for my Extended Project Qualification, I asked: How can NHS policies be
improved with regard to supporting Paramedics with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder . In my study, I

During Hurricane Katrina, efforts of the local, state and federal government were made using servant
leadership to help the people of New Orleans, Louisiana; it made a failure of the said governments to

Failure of the local government The failure of the local government to respond to Hurricane Katrina
that the emergencies plan of the government were lacking. The city official responsibility for
evacuation of its citizens and the intent was to assist those who needed transportation for the incoming
storm but had no actual plan to implement that intent. When the hurricane Katrina made a landfall in
New Orleans on 29 August 2005, heavy rain battered the area and the storm surge measuring as high
as 30 feet and moving toward inland and breached several levees intended to protect New Orleans
from the water of the lake. The water poured through the breaks in the days following the storm,
covering approximately 80% of the city with water as deep as three meters. The flooding, wind, and
waves it caused the city major damage to building and infrastructure. There is a lot of people stranded
on the rooftops of their houses and people wading through the water. The communities suffered from
the disaster, particularly the city of New Orleans. Most of their first responders like

27. A Compartment Of Tendon Progenitors
A Somitic Compartment of Tendon Progenitors Summary
Tendons are some of the most important tissues in the body of any organism, transferring the power
created by the muscles to the bones and allowing coordinated body movements to occur. However,
until recently there was very little known about the origin of this tissue and most of the research
performed focused on the limbs and the tendons associated with them. Along with the limited amount
of research seemingly none of it was focused on the axial and ventrolateral body wall tendons. It was
not until the discovery of Scleraxis (Scx), a bHLH transcription factor found in progenitor cells and
mature tendons, that tendons could be observed through the embryonic stages (Schweitzer et al. ...

Upon confirming that axial and intercostal tendons originated from the somites, the researchers
wanted to determine if the other somitic compartments affected the syndetome fate. Double whole
mount in situ hybridization was used to compare Scx in progenitor cells, Pax1 in sclerotome, and
MyoD in myotome. Scx expression was restricted to the anterior and posterior borders while MyoD
expression was present in the center of the myotome with no overlap of the two markers. When Scx
was compared to Pax1 it appeared that they existed in the same region; however, Pax1 was expressed
more ventromedial and Scx was closer to the myotome, these markers did not have any overlap either.
Additionally, Scx expression occurred much later in development compared to MyoD and Pax1(Kiefer
and Hauschka, 2001; Stockdale et al., 2000). It showed that the Scx expression progenitor cells had a
distinct fate producing a separate compartment of tendon progenitor cells, which did not overlap with
the adjacent tissues.
To establish the origin of the syndetome a fate map was created using a chick quail chimera where two
successive sclerotomes or dermomyotomes were transplanted from a quail to a chick embryo.
Utilizing in situ hybridization to visualize Scx expression and QCPN to identify quail cells,
sclerotome and Scx expressing tendon

Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally,
said by Abraham Lincoln. ( Quotes About Slavery ) No one had experienced anything other than a
world with slavery, and were not for having a change like this occur and change many people s lives

People mailed themselves to escape the torture of slavery! Some even committed suicide. Death was a
better option then slavery. The Underground Railroad helped people take control of their rights, and
their lives. This background information was not taught in school. Slavery tore families apart, it took
people away from their homes, and it deprived people from their rights and freedom. Blacks were
treated as a different species, and also were considered inferior to whites. The Dred Scott Case is an
example of how bad they slaves wanted to get away from their masters. His master to a free territory

29. Essay on Robert Ressler Coined the Term Serial Killer
We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere. And there will be more of
your children dead tomorrow. (Ted Bundy). Serial killers are not always those people that look like
monsters or behave in strangeous ways. Sometimes they are the successful people, the ones that have
a family and a job. The term Serial Killer was first coined by Robert Ressler, former director of the
FBI s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. Serial killers are often defined as people that kill two
or more people over a period of more than 30 days with cooling off periods between each kill. Many
historical criminologists suggest that serial killing has been a component of society since the
beginning; suggesting that old stories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The triad includes fire setting, animal cruelty, and enuresis (bed wetting). A highly debate issue around
serial killers is the reason behind their actions. Although many theories exist about the reason why
serial killers act the way they do, the most common theory is that they are searching for some type of
psychological satisfaction. A very common theory behind the reason of the actions of serial killers is
the social control theory. This theory states that serial killers behave the way they do due to their
inability to cope and adapt to society. Another well known theory is the neutralization theory. This
theory states that murderers sometimes move from an invisible baseline and commit illegal actions
while sometimes moving back and acting in a conventional way. The last theory is the labeling theory.
This theory, created by Erving Goffman, states that people act the way they do due to the labels that
society has created for them. Therefore, if a kid is labeled as a troublemaker at a very young age, it is
more likely that he will continue with this behavior through adulthood. From Ted Bundy to BTK to
the Zodiac Killer , serial killers have been around the United States for a long time, but none is better
than Richard Chase, or better known as the Vampire of Sacramento , to investigate the reasons behind
serial killers. Born on May 23, 1950, Chase was raised in a very strict house and was constantly

our townspeople, while they did help the needy, did not particularly like them. Moishe the Beadle was
the exception. He stayed out of people s way. His presence bothered no one. He had mastered the art
of rendering himself insignificant, invisible. (p. 3) Elie describes him clearly, how Moishe lives in
poverty. Even though he was poor but he did not asked for pity. The town people usually did not like
the people who lived in poverty because they usually bother other people and ask for compassion. But
Moishe is different, his presence did not disturb other people. People can find them in the prayer
house and he will make him self invisible. I pray to the God within me for the strength to ask Him the

31. Deborah Gilboa s Hey, Jimmy Kimmel, Find A Different Funny
Analysis Essay The general argument made by Deborah Gilboa, MD in her work Hey, Jimmy
Kimmel, Find a Different Funny is that although it may be harmless fun tricking your kids, it can also
change their behavior. More specifically, Dr. Gilboa argues that tricking your kid for a laugh can have
a negative impact on the relationship of the family. She writes, parents shock and betray their kids for
a laugh . In this passage, Dr. Gilboa is implying that telling your kids that you ate their candy or give
them a bad Christmas present is a very bad idea and it will degrade the trust between the parent and
the kid. In conclusion, Dr. Gilboa believes that parents should not lie to their kids for a cheap laugh. In
the end the doctor tried to persuade Jimmy Kimmel by explaining that children are not mentally
developed, there are negative consequences from the parent s action, and using strong word choice. ...

32. Why Is It Important To Be Taught In Schools
Students are not being taught good character in school. Students need to be taught character and
participate in clubs to grow their characteristics. Character needs to be taught in schools so that the
students can learn how they are supposed to act or behave. Schools are not teaching their students
character and they are growing up to be immature adults. Parents want what is best for their children
and that is for them to be well educated and behaved. This is important because students are not
behaving well or focusing on doing their work. This causes them to fail or get close to failing.
Students are also rude to other students and that is one thing that a character class may help. Character
is important and should be taught in all schools. Meanwhile, schools should create clubs to grow
characteristics. KIPP is a charter school system that implemented an approach to character education.

with the education in areas such as morality, ethics, and the good citizenship they need to know. At
this point, character education programs have been created. Most public schools do not have character
education programs, therefore the students that are enrolled in public schools are not learning
character. Answering the call, numerous character education programs have been created by private
organizations, state and local school boards, and corporations that have designed curricula, created
lessons, and provide the tools necessary for schools to provide character education to their students.

CHAPTER ONE
1.0 Introduction
Education is so important in any given society. For this reason, it forms a major part of any
government s plans. The plans that any government wishes to implement as regards their education
system is determined by existing policies. Factors which influence formulation of policies form the
subject of this discussion.
For orderly presentation, the essay is divided into three chapters namely the introduction, the main
body and conclusion. The introduction gives definitions of key terms used in the essay as well as

Therefore, in the 1950s and 1960s, demand and plans for investment in formal education by African
countries increased. Education was regarded to be a principal weapon in achieving economic growth.
To this end rapid quantitative expansion of the education system became the order of the day in newly
independent African countries.
Man power Shortages
After attaining independence, African countries were confronted with shortage of manpower in
various sectors of the economy. As a result of this scenario, they experienced economic stagnation.
Man power shortages were heavily felt in technical and managerial fields. Thus, education policies in
most African countries were directed towards resolving the man power shortages experienced. This
situation was evident from what obtained in Kenya. As Eshiwani (1993:26), observes at independence
in 1963, Kenya found herself with a high shortage of skilled manpower to run the economy. In order
to solve this problem, a commission was appointed to advise the government on the formulation and
interpretation of national educational policies. Therefore, it can be stated that man power planning in
newly independent countries of Africa gave a direction to the formulation of education policies.
Consequently, the governments of newly independent countries of Africa saw it paramount to expand
the education systems of their countries in

Australia is a vast land with a diverse environment and communities isolated by great distances. Its
peoples have a diversity of culture, educational and economic circumstances, health needs, services,
and social structure. Therefore the welfare issues experienced and the impact these have to lifestyle
within Australia s different populations would also differ in relation to these factors. This is certainly
true for Rural Australia.
The biggest factor impacting Rural Australia has been the changes to the economic viability of
primary production, one of the largest sources of income for Australia (Australian Government, 2008),
affected by globalization, deregulation, privatisation and reduction/withdrawal of services, rising ...

This tightening of expenditure continues on throughout the community. Business may cease
sponsorship of the local football teams and individuals may cut back on patronage of local restaurants.
Local charities and churches may notice a reduction in donations. It isn t just the newly unemployed
and the businesses that are affected. The general community begins to experience a fall in optimism
for the future. Economic downturn with the resulting sense of hopelessness and despair is a major
factor contributing to the high rate of rural suicides. A lot of people who get put on the economic
scrapheap through no fault of their own feel an enormous sense of worthlessness (Human Rights and
Equal Opportunity Commission,1999, p.5).
The newly unemployed can find it hard to gain other employment in the region as most rural areas
rely on one major industry for employment. Another problem is that many of the people employed in
primary production areas are likely to have limited education or skills and so find changing careers
difficult without assistance.
Education in Rural Australia is not necessarily valued or available in the same way it is in
metropolitan areas. Many children need to travel great distances or live away from home to access
secondary and particularly tertiary education. The high cost of living away from home, lack of

girl with beautiful, bouncy hair getting the door held for her but not the next. Or people flocking
around the male with a shiny white smile and impeccable taste but not the average joe next to you.
You may ask why this happens and what is so different about those people than everyone else. What if
everyone was seen by what was on the inside of them? Their inner beauty. What exactly is the
difference between inner beauty and outer beauty? Inner beauty and outer beauty are very different

Symmetrical faces are equivalent to having two good sides. Anthony Little, a psychologist at the
University of Stirling, says, People s faces usually only differ subtly in symmetry. Everyone s face is
slightly asymmetrical, but in different ways. ( What Makes a Pretty Face?, 2016) Symmetry is created
by averages and the averageness of a face is made up of the size and placement of the features on a
face. In summary, the faces that seem that most beautiful have the best symmetry. Inner beauty is a
much more vast concept than outer beauty. Outer beauty is something that can be seen, described, and
photographed. None of those things can be done with inner beauty, it s something that you have to feel
and show. Helen Keller once said, The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or
even touched. They must be felt with the heart. I believe that one of the main reasons people are
judged more by their appearance than their personality is because appearance is much easier to grasp
at a glance. If you happen to be walking down a street sometime you can easily look at every person
you come across and judge whether or not they are an attractive person. You can not, however, judge
someone by their inner beauty just by walking past them on the street. Inner beauty is what you are as
a person, outer beauty is how other people perceive you to be. A person cannot simply become
physically beautiful,
