     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 1st Battalion, Rifle Brigade.1 He fought in the Second World War.1

Richard Henry Crofton was born on 31 January 1818 at Ireland.2 He was the son of Duke Crofton and Alicia Jones.1 He married, firstly, Emily Catherine Ann Brown, daughter of William James Brown and Catherine Ann Atkins.2 He married, secondly, Frances Mary Marsh, daughter of Arthur Cuthbert Marsh, on 22 June 1848.1 He died on 23 March 1897 at age 79.1
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Artillery.1 He lived at Lakefield, County Leitrim, Ireland.1 He lived at Powick, Worcestershire, England.1

     He gained the rank of Ensign in the 2nd Foot Guards.1 He lived at Combe Bank, Kent, England.1 He lived at Highland's Lodge, St. Leonard's, Sussex, England.1
