[edit]Salut!
Merci de ta proposition de propriété Wikidata:Property proposal/Queerly Represent Me identifier − la prochaine fois, n’oublie pas de {{ping project|Video games}}
Amicalement, Jean-Fred (talk) 21:55, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- Salut.
- Jean-Fred (talk) 08:45, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
Silanoc (talk) 20:30, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- Salut.
Regarding your list of transgender people
[edit]Would you mind if a add sexual orientation (P91) and personal pronoun (P6553) to the list? It would make pretty good sense. --Trade (talk) 13:19, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
- Trade, go for it, I just use that for patrolling the items. I see if someone enter the wrong entry on sex or gender (P21), but I guess that can be useful too. It could also be moved outside of my personal page maybe :) --Misc (talk) 14:21, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
- The list seems to have some trouble with the pronouns? Not surprising given the nature of the property. --Trade (talk) 15:06, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
- I can take a look, I think I do have a few queries for that since lexemes are used differently (so I took notes), I can take a look. --Misc (talk) 20:34, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
- So I did fixed (in 2 diff), if you want to take a look at the trick (using STR + BIND + a custom attribute in the query). --Misc (talk) 20:44, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

New page for catalogues
[edit]Hi, I created a new page for collecting sites that could be added to Mix'n'match and I plan to expand it with the ones that already have scrapers by category. Feel free to use, expand. Best, --Adam Harangozó (talk) 23:09, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for the information, that's quite useful. --Misc (talk) 23:19, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
Since you are one of only three people that I can tell that has looked at that entity including myself, you may be interested in reading and possibly giving your thoughts on wikidata:requests for deletions#Q63016981 (now wikidata:requests for deletions/Archive/2020/01/15#Q63016981). Thanks. Arlo Barnes (talk) 19:52, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Arlo Barnes:, seems this is a bit too late. Sorry, seems I was the one who triggered all events leading to that result. I did see the item while trying to add refs for sexual orientation (P91) when they were missing, and looking at the item, I was surprised and asked if that was following WD:N. People told me to ask you to add refs (which I did), then someone did start the RfD after seeing the discussion. --Misc (talk) 21:30, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, you and everyone else acted in good faith, so I am not upset. Guess I'll just have to become notable :P Arlo Barnes (talk) 22:04, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
MxM for article items
[edit]Hi Misc,
As you are an active user of Mix'n'Match, I was wondering what you think of the approach outlined at Help:Add_main_subject_with_Mix-n-Match, including Wikidata:Property_proposal/MxM_xref.
The idea is to be able to match up items for entries of biographical dictionaries (and other publications with items), e.g. the ones at Help:Import_NBD_from_enwikisource/lists/all_entries. I actually tried it in the mentioned catalogue and it went fairly well.
To move ahead with others, Wikidata:Property_proposal/MxM_xref would be most helpful. --- Jura 11:18, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hi @Jura1:, I think I tend to lean on using Openrefine for that. While I do appreciate your pragmatic approach and usage of MxM, OpenRefine do support matching, do direct edits to wikidata, or upload using QuickStatement. And if the issue is just shared access to Sandbox-External identifier (P2536), I think it would be better to devise a access protocol (like, always add a qualifier with your username) to share the property than create a new one, who could suffer from the same problem (even if unlikely, I agree). --Misc (talk) 08:41, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for your feedback. The idea is that pure sandbox use wouldn't break or interfere with work by users with MxM. Adding qualifiers or some filter would require Magnus to make changes in MxM, but wouldn't ensure that.
- If such code is added, I'm not sure if it should be based on a sandbox property.
- I wonder why you would tend to recommend one, but work with the other.
- BTW I added another series of items (catalogue 3499). --- Jura 10:22, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- I wouldn't have advocated to add the sandbox property at all, but since it is here and you use it, I do not think I should say much. --Misc (talk) 13:34, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
GOG and Steam distribution of games
[edit]Hi, could you please explain this edit from the mass edit you did? Thank you very much :) --★ → Airon 90 08:25, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, @Airon90:, sure. I did see that Steam application ID (P1733) (and others) constraints were changed in January by @Trade:, and so my understanding is that distribution format (P437) was wrongly used for that in the past (since bots, like KrBot did the modification), and that Gog/Steam/etc should go to distributed by (P750) instead. Given QS relative unreliability I did it in several batchs. I did the removal, and decided to wait a bit for KrBot to do the job, but if this doesn't happen today, I will just use Openrefine to fix it, and continue with HumbleStore and others. --Misc (talk) 08:43, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
LD (suite)
[edit]Salut,

[edit]Sorry about that. You left no explanation for your edit. I don't follow all discussions of all properties. This entry has many bad-faith edits, I assumed yours was just more vandalism. Twopower332.1938 (talk) 17:00, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Twopower332.1938:, yeah, no big deal, that's understandable. I realize that my message is more antagonistic than it should, sorry about that. And yeah, the lack of message on WD is a problem unless you revert do bother me from time to time, but I dislike reverting good faith edit just for that. --Misc (talk) 09:22, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

Request
[edit]Dear Misc I have a request for you for the two articles horror film and history of horror films on Wikipedia can you restore the 2010s section and the 2020s section for both articles? 107.122.97.8 04:11, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry, I do not think I can. --Misc (talk) 19:03, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
Hi Misc, I noticed that you delete female (Q6581072) in sex or gender (P21). Since the person is transgender, I think the statement should also include “feminine”. I'm aware that this is not the ideal, but with only trans woman (Q1052281) some modules doesn't show the feminine label. I mean, in Spanish when you search for Emilia, Google shows that she is a deputy of Chile (Q18067639) in the masculine form. This was taken by transphobic groups to bully Emilia because “even Google says she's a man” (I'm quoting some post I saw on social media). I know the WikiProject LGBT had some discussions about implementing new properties, but right now in some languages the option of not having the gender in the item affects the description of transgender people, and it's violent for them. I would be happy to discuss more of this :-) Best, Soylacarli (talk) 15:41, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Soylacarli. While I see the problem, I think Wikidata shouldn't be changed because Google decided that misgendering is fine.
- In that specific case, I think that Google should be the one that fix their web page. They are the ones who control what is displayed, they are the ones that misgender people. They also are the ones with a paid staff, the ones with a internal D&I group and the one who proudly say "we support pride". And more importantly, they are the ones who are not following the community current consensus. I personally do not care of the exact solution as long as everything is consistent and documented. If the community decide that duplicating is the solution, it shouldn't be too hard to do with a quick statement to fix it everywhere.
- Cause if there is a need to change for 1 item, then the need exist for all the others, as they would all suffer from the same problem (in more than spanish). As you pointed out, there have been some discussions since the start, so feel free to start a new discussion and see if things changed. Misc (talk) 19:02, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
