Motivation

vPlants (Q113639639), a virtual herbarium of the Chicago Region, contains specimen data and images, species descriptions, distribution by county, and photo galleries for plants of the 24 counties in the four-state region around Chicago and the southern tip of Lake Michigan. This online resource is the product of the Morton Arboretum, the Field Museum of Natural History, and the Chicago Botanic Garden, and represents authoritative information about plants in this region of the American Midwest.
