Os quatro primeiros capítulos dessa tese correspondem a um longo percurso para chegar à análise d... more Os quatro primeiros capítulos dessa tese correspondem a um longo percurso para chegar à análise da novela de Kafka, “A Construção”, escrita nos últimos meses que antecederam a sua morte em 1924. Ele tem como ponto de partida a análise de uma outra construção, habitada pelo personagem da novela Memórias do subsolo, daquele que Kafka considerava um “consanguíneo”, Dostoiévski. A análise do primeiro livro de Kafka, Contemplação, que vem a seguir no segundo capítulo, começa a estabelecer aproximações e diferenças a partir da compreensão da literatura de Kafka como tentativa de conquista de autonomia de um sujeito que se percebe sempre acossado por um outro aniquilador. A literatura, em sua potência negativa (como forma), aparece sempre como a construção capaz de abrigar aquele, que marcado por determinações opostas, é destituído de mundo. Nos capítulos 3 e 4, a ausência de mundo aparece menos ligada às condições de existência de um sujeito específico e mais ligado ao próprio desdobramento da metafísica que não se distingue, na análise feita, das condições de existência em um mundo capitalista. Em contraposição à redução do mundo às engrenagens do tráfego sobre a ponte cujo ruído ensurdecedor abafa a voz humana que ainda é capaz de trazer à cena o amor, aparece de novo a literatura como o âmbito que acolhe outra vez como potência negativa (forma) o que se perde no plano do conteúdo: um mundo e a sua “quadratura”: terra, céu, deuses e homens. Por fim, seguindo uma citação de Theodor Adorno, segundo o qual Kafka segue uma “tendência iluminista que vai até Hegel e Marx”, retornamos ao nihilismo de Memórias do subsolo, como um limite atingido por essa mesma tradição; e chegamos por fim à novela “A construção”: à literatura como um campo em que se defronta a gratuidade, o começo lúdico, e o espírito de vingança.

Este trabalho pretende compreender a especificidade da temporalidade nas narrativas do escritor t... more Este trabalho pretende compreender a especificidade da temporalidade nas narrativas do escritor tcheco Franz Kafka. Para isto, buscamos desenvolver o conceito de origem negativa e aplicá-lo ao romance O castelo (Das Schloß). Entende-se por origem negativa o movimento constante de negação operado pelo texto, em sua construção labiríntica, e pelos protagonistas e outros personagens em todo original, que em Kafka se encontra ausente ou danificado. No percurso do trabalho, narrativas curtas de Kafka serão comparadas a narrativas clássicas de temática semelhante, incluindo textos da Bíblia e da Odisseia. Diferentes abordagens críticas, como as de Walter Benjamin e Max Brod, serão apropriadas e criticadas em busca da formulação do conceito.

Procura-se detectar neste trabalho um modus operandi próprio de Franz Kafka (1883 – 1924) que per... more Procura-se detectar neste trabalho um modus operandi próprio de Franz Kafka (1883 – 1924) que permita justificá-lo dentro desta perspectiva que se adota como norte: uma literatura que se desgarra constantemente em seus desdobramentos internos, a saber, uma literatura ameaçada em sua própria lógica estrutural, na maneira como o narrador coloca em perigo sua matéria narrada. Mais do que isso, como a narração entra em colisão com seu criador, aquele que a narra, e como tal processo dá origem a uma porção de desdobramentos dentro ainda da mesma matéria ficcional, o que acaba por guiar o leitor, meio que às avessas, não a uma saída do dilema kafkiano, mas a um novo labirinto que lhe fornece um respiro de sobrevivência. O desgarre é sugerido na maneira como o narrador se desprende do narrado e abandona o leitor em múltiplos e novos becos sem saída – que bastam. Como a fortuna crítica de Kafka é bastante diversificada, a atitude adotada é a de traçar um histórico recortado da imensa bibliografia kafkiana e então filtrá-la de modo coerente e produtivo.

Tendo a fragmentação e a elipse como métodos estruturantes no modo de contar histórias, a literat... more Tendo a fragmentação e a elipse como métodos estruturantes no modo de contar histórias, a literatura de Franz Kafka e o cinema de Michael Haneke instauram narrativas enigmáticas. Eleito o romance O Castelo como ponto de partida, o filme homônimo dirigido por Haneke busca a materialização imagética da linguagem protocolar kafkiana, convergindo para o seu cinema literário. Propomos então realizar uma reflexão crítica e analítica da transposição midiática orquestrada pelo diretor alemão do romance inacabado de Kafka. Respondendo à imensa crítica do escritor, intentamos estabelecer uma leitura literal do texto romanesco, evitando as exegeses que tendem a condicionar a tônica de sua literatura. Em seguida, acessando toda a filmografia do diretor, foi possível conjeturar panoramas, a fim de investigar de que maneira a prosa kafkiana serve de substrato na edificação de sua controversa estética. Walter Benjamin, Theodor Adorno, Roberto Calasso e Milan Kundera conduziram a trajetória analítica da obra literária, especialmente por se tratar de teóricos que teceram importantes contribuições para a compreensão da prosa do autor tcheco. Com o intuito de delinear as vicissitudes desse encontro interartístico entre escritor e diretor e a tônica dialógica daquilo que chamamos de “cinema de liberdade”, recorremos essencialmente a Mikhail Bakhtin e à Estética da Recepção, além de Roland Barthes e Robert Stam. Nessa arena dialógica das artes, ao absterem-se de decretar a palavra final sobre aquilo que é escrito ou mostrado, escritor e diretor se encontram na edificação de linguagens verbais e imagéticas que provocam o ativismo de leitores e espectadores.

Este trabalho tem por objetivo trazer aos estudos e práticas referentes à arte da performance out... more Este trabalho tem por objetivo trazer aos estudos e práticas referentes à arte da performance outras visões, a partir da análise cuidadosa de três narrativas breves de Franz Kafka – A Ponte (Die Brücke), Um Fratricídio (Ein Brudermord) e A Preocupação do Pai de Família (Die Sorge des Hausvaters). Para isso, partiremos da observação de que há na literatura kafkiana uma ênfase nos gestos dos personagens e na construção cênica que extrapolam o âmbito do teatro e chegam à linguagem performática, concebida, sobretudo, como arte de fronteira. Nosso principal propósito é conjugar as análises da escrita kafkiana, por meio das narrativas selecionadas, às principais características da linguagem performática, visto que tanto a performance quanto a literatura de Franz Kafka se apresentam transgressoras e passíveis de serem analisadas sob novos ângulos. Além disso, a presente dissertação tem por objetivo ampliar os estudos de performance ao introduzir o conceito de acontecimento incorporal, o qual será desenvolvido durante as análises

A presente dissertação consiste principalmente numa leitura das cartas amorosas de Franz Kafka a ... more A presente dissertação consiste principalmente numa leitura das cartas amorosas de Franz Kafka a Milena Jesenská em diálogo com a teoria da mídia, de modo a discorrer sobre mensagens e mensageiros, longa distâncias, mensagens que não chegam, mensagens que não partem; sobre o remetente que envia, o destinatário que espera, e o que acontece no meio do caminho; sobre o que é transmissível e o que não é. As cartas a Milena constituem objeto privilegiado para essa investigação na medida em que embrenham amor, distância e tecnologia: Kafka e Milena mantiveram, por um ano, uma relação quase exclusivamente epistolar, e essa distância é constantemente problematizada nas cartas, bem como causa direta de ansiedades e, possivelmente, do amor. O método de investigação consiste em: 1) isolar a obsessão de Kafka por mensagens e mensageiros em contos, romances, aforismos e anotações; 2) uma leitura de teóricos da mídia que trabalham o universo de problemas das tecnologias de comunicação, especialmente Sybille Krämer, Friedrich Kittler e Bernhard Siegert; 3) uma leitura do texto de Cartas a Milena procurando destacar como Kafka sofre o que chamaremos de pathos da distância de proximidade utilizando as cartas como tecnologia de se aproximar e de separar ao mesmo tempo. Por fim, discute-se outras interpretações da falência postal entre Kafka e Milena no contexto das transformações históricas no final do século 18 e começo do 19 e conclui-se com uma possível relação entre mídia e eros.

Esta monografia inicia-se a partir de uma analise minuciosa da obra literária O processo, de Fran... more Esta monografia inicia-se a partir de uma analise minuciosa da obra literária O processo, de Franz Kafka. Posteriormente, busca-se correlacionar às experiências do protagonista em seu processo, com as vividas pela ex-presidente Dilma Rousseff no processo de impeachment. Serão utilizadas ferramentas sociológicas e filosóficas que auxiliam na compreensão da obra e concomitantemente nos fatos políticos ocorridos no ano de 2016. Dentre as quatro etapas que estruturam o trabalho, a primeira consiste numa contemporização do literário Franz Kafka e de sua obra O Processo. A segunda etapa evidencia uma analise da obra a partir dos conceitos filosóficos de Gilles Deleuze e Felix Guattari. A terceira etapa elenca perspectivas dos sociólogos Howard Becker e Georg Simmel. A última busca a partir de tudo que foi explicitado ao longo da monografia corroborar as similaridades do ocorrido com a ex-presidente Dilma Rousseff e o protagonista da obra Josef K.

Resumo Este artigo analisa, no romance O desaparecido ou Amerika, de Franz Kafka, a configuração ... more Resumo Este artigo analisa, no romance O desaparecido ou Amerika, de Franz Kafka, a configuração da lei paterna enquanto sistema opressor que julga e sentencia o filho segundo uma lei-conceito predefinida, que acaba por tornar esse julgamento uma ficção. Dois territórios democráticos, um utópico e outro real, apresentam-se como o cenário do julgamento, da sentença e do castigo do filho. Diante da lei do pai, o filho não dispõe de nenhuma possibilidade de escolha, pois se encontra enredado em um pecado original que, antes de sua própria existência, já o tinha sentenciado como culpado. No desenvolvimento deste artigo, três narrativas curtas de Kafka são apresentadas como exercício de reflexão sobre essa lei paterna autocrática, são elas: A metamorfose, O veredicto e Carta ao pai. Textos de Jacques Derrida, "Préjugés: devant la loi", e de Jacques Rancière, "O continente democrático", dão a este artigo uma estrutura teórica pela qual a lei paterna kafkiana pode ser pensada.

Nessa narrativa, o modo cáustico e problemático do movimento textual do narrador é muito semelhante ao movimento kafkiano que se manifesta no Diário Íntimo e nos romances do escritor tcheco, dando-nos material necessário para investigarmos a influência de Franz Kafka no escrito de Maurice Blanchot em análise. No momento final de sua escrita, Kafka mencionará um "canto à incolumidade da construção" e Josefina, a ratinha, é uma cantora. Em todos esses modos, a escrita, que se desdobra em uma abundância de modos dispersivos, retira o especifica mente literário da sua zona de conforto ao ir para além dele ou ficando-lhe aquém, em todo caso, levando-o a seu fora, não se deixando identificar com ele. Descobrar a obra chamada de literária a partir das múltiplas escritas, com seus relatos, a princípio, autobiográficos, sem as marcas habituais do que é reconhecido majoritariamente como literatura, é, certamente, uma das operações do que se chama Kafka, com a vida que vive adentrando a escrita e a escrita adentrando a vida que vive, confundida s em uma zona potencial. A resenha procura apresentar os principais aspectos do livro da professora Michelle Woods a respe... more A resenha procura apresentar os principais aspectos do livro da professora Michelle Woods a respeito da tradução e recepção da obra kafkiana em língua inglesa. Em seu primeiro e mais extenso capítulo, a autora analisa quatro traduções que considera exemplares, focalizando as primeiras tradutoras de Kafka, Milena Jesenská e Willa Muir, e a perspectiva de dois tradutores contemporâneos. Em suas análises dá destaque para aspectos de gênero e questões ligadas a transnacionalidade e culturas minoritárias dentro do espectro cultural de língua inglesa. Nos capítulos subsequentes, comenta a presença de questões de tradução no interior da própria obra kafkiana, algumas adaptações fílmicas de sua obra (as de Wells, Haneke, Soderbergh, Fellini e uma produção escocesa, menos conhecida, de Capaldi) e realiza, no capítulo final, uma interpretação da última narrativa kafkiana, destacando a preocupação de Kafka com aspectos sonoros e musicais como parte de seu questionamento permanente da comunicação humana, de seus limites e de seu precário mas central instrumento, a linguagem verbal e sua manifestação nas diferentes línguas e culturas.
