Visual impairment is a condition that is globally recognize as a major concern due to its extensive disadvantage. The objective of the study is to develop an accessible and inclusive mobile application that will respond to the needs of the visually impaired community executed with Object Recognition and Text-to-Speech technology. Aside from this, it also upholds one of the many objectives of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)---to provide inclusion for Person's with Disability (PWD), particularly in parts relating to the development towards education, growth and employment, and inequality. This objective is done with Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm that analyzes images to identify details which will be narrated to the user through Text-to-Speech. The study concludes that accessibility to technology for the visually impaired community is still young, thus further development must be accomplished.

Disaster risk is the probability of harmful consequences or exposure to hazardous condition which may result to damages on livelihood or property or loss of life. Increasing risk can be managed by proper planning and by conducting appropriate training to disaster management. This study focuses on the development of simulated training on disaster risk management and emergency preparedness for facilitating programs on disaster awareness, capacity building activities and real environment training for proper respond to disasters. This study also aims to implement a case-driven training simulation using virtual reality technology. The case-driven simulation serves as an assessment tool to measure the competency of the users immersed in the virtual environment. The methodology applied in this study was qualitative approach to design the simulated training application using prototyping with gamification techniques. With the use of technology, training simulation on disaster such as earthquake, typhoon, tsunami and fire were achieved. Further, the rest of the study explores on the architecture and design features of the virtual training using immersive virtual reality for the propagation of disaster risk management and emergency preparedness program.

Nails serves as a great way to discover several underlying systemic diseases of a person. There are different nail abnormalities that are associated with systemic diseases. The objective of the study is to utilize mobile camera that will allow users to capture of nail. Through this, the application will suggest several systemic diseases found based on the uploaded nail image by the user. The methods applied in this study includes the use of Custom Vision API that process images to analyze certain nail abnormalities. This study concludes that systemic diseases can be identify through nail abnormalities, so that the proponents developed an application that will analyze a fingernail image and will provide systemic diseases suggestions.

The inability of an individual to hear sounds causes trouble in communicating among other individuals. Sign language helps the deaf community express what they want to say through different hand gestures, facial expressions and body movement. However, not everyone is knowledgeable of sign language. This study aims to develop an android based mobile application translator system which translates text into sign language. The system is called SiTa: Sign Talker. It accepts English and Filipino words or phrases then translates to American Sign Language (ASL) and Filipino Sign Language (FSL). Disaster is the unforeseen and most of the time a sudden event that causes destruction, human suffering, great damage on property and economic losses. As described by the United Nation International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR), the impact of disaster could be more than just a damage to property but may also result to physical and mental disabilities, and the worst effect of its impact can result to loss of life. Every person including persons with disability should be aware of any vulnerable and harmful condition that anyone may possibly place in. By proper planning and appropriate training to disaster management, the increasing risk and impact of disaster may be reduced. This study emphasizes on the design and implementation of ASL assisted simulated training on disaster risk management. This focuses on facilitating programs on disaster awareness, capacity building activities and real environment training for proper respond to disasters designed for people with hearing impairment. This study also aims to design an ASL assisted application that uses virtual reality technology to be able to simulate disaster drills and exercises to people with hearing impairment without exposing them to harmful conditions.
