The reproduction of gender order in young people's learning of counter-hegemonic contentious activism may seem a contradiction in a political field seeking to transform the social order and help empower its activists. A qualitative study carried out on young activists in the sphere of leftist Basque nationalism in the aftermath of ETA's armed activity revealed that the repertoires and forms of action of contentious politics foment activist ideals associated with hegemonic masculinity and mean that the women participating tend to occupy a subordinate position. In the tension between the political forces keen on change and those favouring continuance, we studied the factors which could help women activists build dissident collective agencies, particularly, feminist agencies.

Gazteen eta politikaren arteko harremana modu askotan irudikatu da garaiaren eta ingurune sozialaren arabera. Aldi batzuetan, gazte erreboltariak izan dira nagusi irudikapen sozialean. Gaur egun, ordea, badirudi gazte axolagabe eta indibidualisten estereotipoa zabaldu dela gure artean. ‘Gazteriaren’ ikuspegi unibokoa ematen duten errepresentazioak alde batera utzita, artikuluan teknika kualitatiboak erabiltzen dira Hego Euskal Herriko era askotako gazteek bizi izan duten sozializazio politikoa aztertzeko. Hortik abiatuta, eta gazteen beraien kontakizunak aintzat hartuta, gazte horietako batzuek gaur egun politikari ematen dizkioten esanahiak eta esparru politikoan gauzatzen dituzten praktikak zehazten dira.

The article examines ways in which the left-wing nationalist movement in the Basque Country has offered a framework of opportunity for the construction of activist youth agency. It also identifies transformations in youth activist practices over the last decade, following the cessation of ETA´s armed activity. Based on in-depth interviews, we set out to reconstruct the evolution of the political learning and trajectories of youth from the Basque Nationalist left during this period. The analysis of these young peoples’ narratives allows us to understand some of the meanings that they attach to their current political practices. With respect to inherited political traditions, continuity was manifest in the existence of enduring dispositions favourable to counter-hegemonic activism. Changes were manifest in the adaptation of these dispositions to new political conditions through progressively more individualized forms of political action, connected to emerging contemporary agendas.

The study of the participatory institutional design of the Bilbao municipality has allowed us to identify some of the elementsof the participatory opportunity structure that influence the current forms of participation and result in process that exclude women from citizenship practices. The main focus of this text centers on the analysis of the mechanisms ofassociative basis. This analysis indicates that local governments need to integrate the gender perspective not only in the municipal institutions themselves, but also in the practices and actors of democratic governance.

En este artículo se dan a conocer los resultados más relevantes de la investigación " Violencia de género en las relaciones de pareja de adolescentes y jóve-nes de Bilbao " , que se realizó durante el curso 2007-2008, financiada por el Área de la Mujer y Cooperación al Desarrollo del Ayuntamiento de Bil-bao. El objetivo de esta investigación ha sido cono-cer las creencias, actitudes y prácticas que expresan en sus discursos adolescentes y jóvenes de Bilbao sobre la relación de pareja y la violencia de género, así como los vínculos que establecen entre esta vio-lencia y las relaciones afectivas que mantienen, hayan mantenido o puedan mantener en un futuro próximo. La investigación se ha abordado desde una perspectiva metodológica cuantitativa y cualita-tiva; es decir, el análisis del sujeto/objeto de estu-dio se ha realizado desde ambas perspectivas y de forma simultánea.

This book reflects many of the profound social, political, and economic changes that have influenced the UPV/EHU since the 1980s. This process shaped a complex social and political reality in the Basque Country that is mirrored in the diversity of authors and topics in the book. These authors do, however, share a feminist outlook and these chapters provide a general, albeit partial, overview of Basque feminist scholarship. The book is indicative of a twofold series of feminist challenges: There is the challenge of describing and reflecting upon the changes that have occurred in recent decades as regards the presence of women in the job market, in politics, and in public life. These are spheres where feminist activity—institutional, academic, and professional—has flourished to a considerable extent, but where inequalities, though often highly sophisticated and therefore difficult to identify, nonetheless remain evident. Estos centros se caracterizan ademas por recibir un porcentaje elevado de estudiantes extranjeros, en su mayoria procedentes de la Republica de Haiti, por lo que las necesidades de acceso, de informacion y de comunicacion son esenciales para garantizar niveles adecuados en su educacion y aprendizaje. Las TICs provocan cambios no solo en los roles profesionales sino en la forma en la que se accede y se consume informacion. Este artículo explora una propuesta para comenzar a abordar la inclusión de la perspectiva de género en la docencia universitaria a través de metodologías activas de aprendizaje. La idea toma su contexto en el Proyecto de Innovación Educativa “Docencia con perspectiva de género en los grados de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales y de la Comunicación: diagnóstico y propuestas para avanzar” (2018-2019) y se compone de dos objetivos principales: (1) analizar el grado de integración de la perspectiva de género en el Grado de Ciencia Política y Gestión Pública desde la dimensión formal y la dimensión relacional. University libraries in the Dominican Republic are transforming itself and information and communication technologies (ICT) are enabling its students to project somehow their personal autonomy and identity through access to the Internet and tools available in the social web. These centers are further characterized by receiving a high percentage of foreign students, mostly from the Republic of Haiti, so the needs of access, information and communication are essential to ensure adequate levels in their education and learning. ICTs lead not only to changes in professional roles, but in the form that information is accessed and consumed. Libraries can assume different functions depending on the relationship that they project with the use of technology. In this sense interactive libraries will promote a dynamic environment and will help its students connect with tools that facilitate them, among other things, to communicate, interact, learn, investigate and have fun. The challenge will be in the planning of strategic user training programs to overcome the inequalities produced by the digital gap and ensure universal access to information.

This chapter examines some basic feminist critiques of the concept of citizenship, understanding feminism as a body of theory and practice in flux. It defends as a point of
departure collective goals which should be taken on by a Basque state if it takes some of these critiques on board, both in public and private/domestic domains of life. It is proposed that a hypothetical Basque state should be oriented not only to commercial interests but to life in its entirety, developing a new way of understanding citizenship which takes account of both these domains, the public and the private, so that the production of individual rights would be associated with public and private activities: employment, politics, social life, culture, and care.

RESUMEN En el presente artículo se analiza cómo en la construcción histórica de la nación vasca en el seno del movimiento nacionalista han existido (y existen) diferentes mundos de ideas y valores, y las conse-cuencias que esos mundos de valores han tenido en la estructuración de las relaciones de género. Se han analizado dos momentos históricos de la trayectoria histórica del nacionalismo vasco en los cuales éste ha tenido como objetivo la construcción de la nación como comunidad moral. Concretamente se muestran la estructura y las relaciones de género del movimiento nacionalista vasco a partir de la idea de nación que se impone en cada uno de esos momentos históricos. ABSTRACT This article analyses how in the historical construction of the Basque nation different worlds of ideas and values have existed within the nationalist movement, and the consequences that those worlds of values have had in structuring gender relationships. Two historical periods in the trajectory of Basque nationalism are analysed, in which the objective was the construction of the nation as a moral community. Specifically, we show the gender structure and relationships of the Basque nationalist movement , based on the idea of the nation that was predominant in each of those historical periods. Sumario: 1.
