Once upon a time, in a small village nestled between rolling hills, there was a

humble farmer named Peter. He was known for his kindness and generosity. Every

morning, Peter was up before the sun, tending to his crops in the fields. His farm

was his pride and joy.

One day, while Peter was working in the fields, he saw a wounded bird lying on the

ground. Its wing was broken, and it was unable to fly. Without hesitation, Peter

picked up the bird gently and took it home. He made a small nest for it and cared

for it with all his heart. Days passed, and the bird was on the mend, thanks to

Peter's care and attention.

As the bird was getting stronger, Peter decided it was time to let it go. With a heavy

heart, he opened the window and watched as the bird flew away, soaring high into

the sky. Though he was sad to see it leave, Peter knew it was for the best. He was

grateful for the time they had together and hoped the bird was happy and free.

LAST SUMMER VACATION HOLIDAYS
INSTRUCTIONS: Read the following text to answer the questions below
correctly.
I´m The Teacher George, I´m going to talk about the last summer vacation holidays.
I went with my best friend to the beach. We went by plane. It was very expensive but
very nice too. We live in Saltillo and we are Mexicans but we know English to practice
there, that was our intention.
We saw the most interesting places in Cancun like Xcaret park, Maya Museum,
women islands, Tulum ruins, and you can do different activities like swim in Cenotes,
reefs, tours, and enjoy different typical dishes of the region. There are a lot of
wonderful places and activities to practice the English language with people of
different countries and nationalities.
We were there for a week. It was fantastic, funny and incredible, because we knew
people from Canada and USA and we learned the different pronunciations when we
talked with them.
My friend liked to walk on the beach in the mornings to look at the sunrise, then he
was going to win in the pool because I woke up very late. Every day we did different
activities, we ate in different restaurants inside the same hotel. We only liked to
speak English but we met people who wanted to speak and learned Spanish so we
liked to teach them.
Finally, we were buying souvenirs for the family when we returned home. It was an
experience to enjoy with my family on the next vacation.

Hi! My name´s Myriam, I´m an English teacher in the CBTis 235 from Saltillo,

teacher George twelve years ago, when he arrived he was very shy, because he
didn't know anyone and we became good friends, we worked in the same turn, but
after he changed of turn in the afternoon, however we still see in the school
meetings to talk about students, and our lives and we share strategies to work in
academies of the specialty and we help us as colleagues always.
We enjoyed our job, because we are still young and we loved what we did. Also we
work in different schools just like our other colleagues, but now the teacher George
is more sociable and funny, really he has always been like that but I didn't know that.
In short, he is a good person and teacher and I am pleased to have met him and
lived with him, although for a very short time, so take advantage of it and learn from
him since he is a good example to follow.

2. Read and listen to the following informational text and answer the
provided questions about it.
The Quetzalcoatl Ballet from CBTis 36.
The history of the Quetzalcoatl Ballet was achieved through persistence, because
although few know its history, its artistic director, Professor Ubaldo Barrera Riojas,
was initially rejected by the directors of CBTis 36, when he requested to group the
students to form a Folk dance class.
“It was the month of October and some restless boys agreed to form a dance group.
I had applied for a job at CBTis a long time ago and they told me no, that they needed
a chemistry or physics teacher, except for dance. I left with my head bowed."
“Some time passed and the boys spoke to me, they asked me to form a dance group
and in 1986 the Quetzalcoatl folkloric ballet was born,” said the creator of the
renowned dance group, which has received international awards for its excellent
choreography, costumes and authenticity.
"At first it didn't have a name, it was just called the CBTis 36 dance group, so on one
occasion, when we had to introduce ourselves, they told me, teacher, give it a quick
name, we need it to be called something, and I told them, give it Quetzalcoatl.”
“I believe that the sun shines and warms so that the land bears fruit, so I chose
Quetzalcoatl, until later I knew who he was and I do not regret having chosen the
man, because Quetzalcoatl is duality, he is life, he is death, he is light and he is
shadow, it's black and white"
For the artistic director, the most important achievement in all his 38 years of
experience is having polished the boys who have been part of this group.
“It's as if they gave you a rough diamond and you start polishing it, giving it shine,
giving it all the necessary cuts,” he commented.
There are hundreds of CBTis 36 students who have been part of the Quetzalcoatl
Folkloric Ballet, regularly there are 100 high school students who enter dance each
school year.
The good performance of the young people, combined with the excellent direction of
Professor Ubaldo, has achieved first places at the national level.

rainbow.

Mom packed a picnic basket with sandwiches, fruit, and cookies. The sandwiches
were as delicious as mom's homemade meals, and the cookies were as sweet as
grandma's hugs.

Dad spread a blanket on the grass, creating a cozy place. The blanket was as soft
as a teddy bear, making it the perfect place to relax.

The children, Tim and Lily, played on the playground. The swings were as high as
the sky, and the slide was as fast as a racecar. After playing, the family ate lunch.
The sandwiches were as popular as pizza at a party. After eating, they went for a

packed up their things and went back home.

Mexico’s top places to visit.

Among the celebrated states in Mexico, Hidalgo might be less renowned than others,
yet it boasts a distinctive charm with its quaint towns and historical significance. In
comparison to the bustling energy of Mexico City, Hidalgo offers a more serene and
laid-back atmosphere, allowing visitors to explore its hidden gems at a relaxed pace.
Similarly, while Chihuahua may be considered less populated than its counterparts,
its vast landscapes and the awe-inspiring Copper Canyon make it a destination of
unparalleled natural beauty. Aguascalientes, although smaller in size, captivates
with its welcoming ambiance and well-preserved colonial architecture, providing a

SUPERLATIVES
SESSION 1
Introduce the concept and usage of superlatives in English.

OPENING
1.Listen to a short recording using phrases with superlatives (e.g., "the largest
country," "the most difficult subject"). Then, discuss in class what they
understood and how superlatives are used in the phrases.

Brief theoretical introduction about superlatives.

Audio: https://murf.ai/share/lr6s1a0j

DEVELOPMENT
2. Read a short text containing several examples of superlatives.

"The Wonders of Our World"

In our amazing world, there are many incredible places and things. Let's explore
some of the most extraordinary ones!

First, let's talk about the tallest building in the world. It's called the Burj Khalifa and
is located in Dubai. It's not just a little taller than other buildings; it's much taller!
Standing at a stunning height of 828 meters, it's like a giant among skyscrapers.

Now, imagine the smallest country in the world. It's Vatican City, in the heart of
Rome. Although it's the smallest, it's very famous because it's the home of the Pope.
Vatican City is only 44 hectares, making it easy to walk across in a short time.

Do you love animals? The blue whale is the largest animal on our planet. These
gentle giants of the ocean can be as long as three buses put together. Despite their
size, they are known to be very graceful swimmers.

In Africa, you can find the longest river in the

world, the Nile River. It travels an incredible distance of over 6,650 kilometers.
People have lived by the Nile for thousands of years, using its water for farming and
transportation.

Lastly, let's look at the driest place on Earth, the Atacama Desert in Chile. In some
parts of this desert, it has never rained! But even in such a dry place, life finds a way.
Some plants and animals have adapted to these extreme conditions.

Our world is full of amazing superlatives. What superlative place or thing do you find
the most interesting?

Speaking activity: In pairs, students discuss the text and highlight the superlatives
found. Answer the following:

Tallest building in the world:

Smallest country in the world:

Largest animal on our planet:

Longest river in the world:

Driest place on Earth:

OPENING
1. Read the following text and listen to the audio.

What to visit in San Pedro de las Colonias, Coahuila?

In this community, you can visit the Madero Museum, a cultural and historical venue
where the manuscripts of the book "La Sucesión Presidencial" in 1910 are preserved
and exhibited. We also recommend visiting "La Casa de la Cultura", where Madero
lived and wrote "La Sucesión Presidencial", and the Temple of San Pedro Apóstol,
built in the 19th century, with its simple two-body facade and two magnificent towers
on the sides. Another attraction worth visiting are the Tacubaya Dunes. These are
spectacular sand formations in the midst of the desert environment of the area. In
this vast and impressive site, you can take walks, enjoy the sunsets, and for those
who enjoy extreme sports, you can try sandboarding, which is the practice of sliding
through the sand on a board, as if you were surfing.

Finally, it is important to be immersed in the provincial environment of this beautiful

town in Coahuila, by the friendliness of its inhabitants and the delicious cuisine
cultivated there.
