It provides original case-study data and aims to stimulate further empirical and theoretical debate. In particular, the study explores how Twitter users have represented the harms related to an ongoing pipeline project in Italy (referred to as TAP), and the resistance to those harms. To these ends, it offers a virtual and visual ethnography of Twitter posts and posted images.

Yet today, by comparison with other environmental matters, noise and protection from its effects are often overlooked, except in specialist fields such as architecture or planning. One major reason for this may be that noise does not possess the same ability to spread that is characteristic of other forms of pollution. Noise is also an unusual form of environmental pollution in having a physical impact – it is 'heard' and can be 'felt' – but is predominantly interpreted subjectively. The impact and consequences of anthropogenic noise for humans and biodiversity in general are currently under-investigated in criminology and are under-addressed in both public and private international environmental law. Here we question why noise has not (so far) been explored within green criminology and only tentatively explored within cultural criminology. The objectives are to provide an overview of noise as a topic, connecting media, culture and anti-and pro-social behaviour, and to unearth interconnections between the matter of noise and its implications for the environment.

The region is exceptionally challenged in its development and in the implementation of innovation strategies. Developing an original approach based upon a green criminology perspective and the literature on organised crime and mafia, this paper uses media sources, judicial proceedings and official records to evaluate the strategies and the interests of the 'ndrangheta in criminal activities affecting the environment. This discussion will specifically focus on the abuse/misuse of EU structural and innovation funds allocated to the region for environmental innovation projects. The chapter will critically link the choices of local criminal clans with the criminal opportunities offered by European regional policies, including opportunities to profit from exploitation of the environment in various ways.

Half the clinicians Interviewed claimed that their managers had no knowledge of their research projects and the findings of their research were not disseminated. More than half the clinicians interviewed had not read the NHS R&D strategy. Managers and clinicians both need training in research skills. Some doctors and many nurses felt the current research strategy was unfavourable to qualitative studies.

Studies suggesting some relationship between advertising for particular brands or products and shifts in brand or product use are potentially more interesting, if considered from a point of view that recognises that such shifts may involve shifts in milieux, comparisons, styles and meanings associated with consumption. Future research should be attentive to such qualitative changes in drinking practices attendant upon advertising or preventive campaigns (as well as to quantitative changes). The authors suggest that such quantitative and qualitative changes in drinking practices of individuals and social groups need to be considered within the context of more general, ideological and economic, consequences of alcohol advertising. These consequences-inclu...

It proposes the development of a green `perspective' which could serve as a rallying-point and foundational base for otherwise disparate but relevant and related work. The paper reviews past studies which may be seen as contributing to such a foundational base and provisionally suggests 10 areas where green issues connect with established and/or new criminological concerns.
