This research aims to analyze the effect of scientific inquiry model with adobe flash cs6 media and scientific attitudes to the students science process skills, to analyze whether the science process skills of students with a higger scientific attitude is better than students with a lower scientific attitude, to know the interaction of scientific inquiry learning model and scientific attitude toward students science process skill. This research is a quasi experimental research with two group pretest posttest design. The research population is all students of class X Senior High School 1 Hamparan Perak. The sample in this research was taken by cluster random sampling technique, that is as much as 2 classes. Class X-4 as an experimental class taught by scientific inquiry model with adobe flash cs6 media consists of 34 students, class X-3 as control class taught by conventional learning consists of 34 students. This research instrument uses an essay test of science process skills and a scientific attitude questionnaire. The data were analyzed using two ways anava. The result of research shows that the science process skill of students taught by scientific inquiry model with adobe flash cs6 media is better than conventional learning, science process skill of students with higher scientific attitude is better than students with lower scientific attitude, there is interaction between scientific inquiry model with adobe flash cs6 media and conventional learning with scientific attitude in improving students science process skill.

Purposes of the study were to analyze the validity, practicality and effectiveness of learning devices using discovery learning model based on Aceh culture and to analyze the improvement understanding of students physics concept. This study was Research and Development (R&D) by using 4-D model include define, design, develop, and disseminate stages proposed by Thiagarajan with limited trial. Learning devices were developed in the form of lesson plan, student worksheet, student's book, teacher's book and instrument understanding of student physic concept on kinematics motion straight material. All of the learning devices were based on Aceh Culture. Subjects in this study were students of class X MIA I MA Ulumul Quran Langsa. The result of the research shows that the learning devices using discovery learning model based on Aceh culture with an average total validity of lesson plan = 4.31, student's book = 4.36, teacher's book = 4.39, student worksheet = 4.37 and concept comprehension test instruments valid, practical and effective and understanding of students physics concepts increases with an average N-gain of 0.35 with moderate qualifications.

This research aimed to analyze: the effect of problem based learning model on student's problem solving ability; the effect of creative thinking ability on student's problem solving ability and interaction between learning model and creative thinking ability in increasing student's problem solving ability. This research was a quasi-experimental design with two group pre-test post-test design. Experimental group taught by problem based learning model consist of 40 students and control group taught by conventional learning consist of 40 students. The data were analyzed by two ways of variances. Statistical test with 0.05 significant levels showed that: student's problem solving ability that taught by problem based learning model were greater than the conventional learning; problem solving ability group of students that have high creative thinking ability were greater than the students that have low creative thinking ability; there were interaction between learning model and creative thinking ability in increasing student's problem solving ability; the role of creative thinking ability in increasing student's problem solving ability on experimental group were greater than on control group.

The National Standard for Higher Education (SNPT) is a minimum criterion that must be carried out by the operator of higher education to carry out learning, research and community service. This study is ex post de facto research which aims to describe the fulfillment of national standards of higher education, especially the standards of learning and research as the implementation of education in the Postgraduate of Medan State University (Unimed). The subjects of this research are managers, lecturers, students, and graduated student of the Unimed Postgraduate School. The research instruments are questionnaire, and observation sheet. From the results, it can be found that the implementation of education at the Unimed Postgraduate School has fulfilled 8 (eight) learning standards. The development policies and programs needed to improve the quality of learning includes: (a) increasing the capacity of lecturers to produce innovative works (b) increasing the capacity of study program on quality assurance of learning and sustainably research (c) improving the quality of academic services and administration based on IT/ICT uses; and (d) improving the academic atmosphere and pedagogical culture through scientific seminars, book operations.

This study is aimed to analyze the influence of learning style, motivation, and science learning facilities on the achievement of students in learning science. This research was conducted at grade five Elementry School with a population of 269 students. The samples of this study were 160 students using proportional random sampling method. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire that has been tested the validity and reliability. Whereas, data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The result of hypothesis test simultaneously, learning style, motivation and facility of science lesson have positive and significant impact to the achievement of students in learning science. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning style, motivation and science learning facilities has a positive and significant effect on the achievement of students.

Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model used a series of delivery of materials by using groups as a container in unifying students perceptions/ minds to questions asked or asked teachers, which will then be accountable by students in accordance with the teachers request number each group. This research aimed to know: the effect of cooperative learning model type NHT assisted video media on students natural science achievement; the effect of motivation students natural science achievement and interaction between learning model and motivation in increasing students natural science achievement. This research was a quasi-experimental research. Instruments in this research were objective test of natural science and questionnaire motivation in learning. Data analysis technique used was two-way Analysis of Variance at significant level alpha 0.05. The results of this research showed that: there was an effect of cooperative learning model type NHT assisted video media on students natural science achievement, with value of significant 0.000; there was effect of motivation on students natural science achievement, with value of significant 0,000 and there was an interaction between learning model and motivation in increasing students natural science achievement with value of significant 0.031.

This study aims to analyze: (1) Is the understanding of the concept of Natural Sciences in students taught with the Discovery Learning model better compared to Direct Instruction model?, (2) Does the students'understanding of the concept of Natural Science of students who have high scientific attitudes better than that of low scientific attitudes? (3) Are there interactions between the learning model and the scientific attitude in influencing students' understanding of the concept of Natural Science?This research is a quasi-experimental study. The sample in this study was selected with a total sampling of two classes. The instrument consists of a test of understanding of the concept of Natural Science in the form of multiple choice tests and questionnaires of students' scientific attitudes. Data were analyzed using two-way ANAVA at significant level α = 0.05. The results of the study show that (1) Understanding of the concept of Natural Science of students taught with the Discovery Learning model is better than the Direct Instruction model. h is can e seen f the ean un e s tan ing f the c nce t f Natu a l ci ence taught y the isc ve y ea n ing e l x = compared to those taught in the Direct Instruction model x = 69,261) with the value of sig. is 0,000; (2) Understanding of the concept of Natural Science of students who have a high scientific attitude is better than those who have a low scientific attitude. The research aims to study and analyze the influence of lecturer's competence and learning process on study program competitive advantage either in simultaneous and partiality at private higher education in North Sumatera. This research was conducted by census methods over 44 S1 Management studies in Private Higher Education Kopertis of Regional I North Sumatera. The data used in this research were primary data collected by questioners. The research respondents were head and students of study programs. The validity and reliability of the data was tested before hypothesis testing. The data analysis for hypothesis testing was the path analysis. This research concludes that: the role of lecturer's competence and learning process influential significantly toward study program competitive advantage. Partially from both independent variables, the influence of lecturer's competence toward study program competitive advantage is greater than learning process. PENDAHULUAN Lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi merupakan organisasi nirlaba yang dapat mengelola dana sendiri untuk memajukan satuan pendidikan, hal ini sesuai dengan Undang-undang Sisdiknas no 20 tahun 2003. Bila ditinjau dari produk yang dihasilkan maka, lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi adalah badan usaha yang dapat digolongkan sebagai sektor jasa, artinya produk yang diterima pelanggan dari lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi sebahagian besar dalam bentuk pelayanan. This study aimed to analyze whether student's Problem Solving Ability that learned using Problem Based Learning Model better than conventional learning, to analyze whether student's Problem Solving Ability who have above average of Self Regulated Learning better then students who have below the average Self Regulated Learning, and to analyze interaction between Problem Based Learning and conventional learning using Self Regulated Learning in improving students' Problem Solving Ability. This research is a quasi-experimental design with two group pretest posttest design. The study population were all students of class XI SMAN 13 Medan academic year 2015/2016 and the sample was grade XI IPA 3 and 5 selected by simple random sampling. The data were analyzed by two ways ANOVA. The results showed that: (1) student's Problem Solving Ability that learned using Problem Based Learning Model was better than the conventional learning, (2) Problem Solving Ability groups of students who have above average Self Regulated Learning is better than the students who have below average Self Regulated Learning, and (3) there was an interaction between Problem Based Learning Model and conventional learning using Self Regulated Learning in influencing students' Problem Solving Ability. ABSTRAK. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah: untuk menganalisis besarnya pengaruh modal intelektual dan oientasi pasar terhadap keunggulan bersaing UKM baik secara simultan maupun parsial dan dampaknya terhadap kinerja UKM. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 120 UKM bidang kuliner di Kodya Medan pada tahun 2009. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dengan alat pengumpul data melalui kuesioner. Responden penelitian adalah pimpinan dan karyawan pada masing-masing UKM. Keabsahan dan kehandalan kuesioner diuji terlebih dahulu sebelum pengujian hipotesis. Analisis data untuk pengujian hipotesis menggunakan structural equation model (SEM). Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa modal intelektual dan kemampuan orientasi pasar berpengaruh kuat terhadap keunggulan bersaing, artinya modal intelektual dan orientasi pasar yang baik akan dapat meningkatkan keunggulan bersaing. Keunggulan bersaing juga memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap peningkatan kinerja UKM di Kodya Medan. ABSTRACT. The research aims to analyze the influence of intellectual capital and market orientation on competitive advantage either in simultaneously and partiality and their impacts on the small business restaurant performance on Medan city in 2009. Sample in this research were over 120 small businesses on Medan city North Sumatra in 2009. The data used in this research were primary data collected by questioners. The research respondents were head and employees of small businesses. The validity and reliability of the data was tested before hypothesis testing. The data analysis for hypothesis testing was the structural equation model (SEM). This research concludes that there was strong influence of intellectual capital and market orientation toward small business competitive advantage. Likewise, the impact of competitive advantage toward small business performance was strong too.

ABSTRAK. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah: untuk menganalisis besarnya pengaruh kompetensi dan komitmen dosen terhadap kinerja program studi pada pendidikan tinggi Sumatera Utara baik secara simultan maupun parsial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah sensus pada 44 progam studi S1 Manajemen PTS Sumatera Utara. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dengan alat pengumpul data melalui kuesioner. Responden penelitian adalah ketua atau sekretaris pada masing-masing program studi. Keabsahan dan kehandalan kuesioner diuji terlebih dahulu sebelum pengujian hipotesis. Analisis data untuk pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis jalur. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kompetensi dan komitmen dosen berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja program studi, artinya kompetensi dan komitmen dosen yang baik akan dapat meningkatkan kinerja program studi. Secara parsial dari kedua variabel independen, kompetensi dosen memberikan pengaruh lebih besar dibandingkan komitmen dosen dalam meningkatkan kinerja program studi. ABSTRACT. The purpose of this research was to analyze the physics cognitive competence and science process skill of students using scientific inquiry learning model based on conceptual change better than using conventional learning. The research type was quasi experiment and two group pretest-posttest designs were used in this study. The sample were Class XI(A) as experiment class and Class XI(B) as control class with the total number sixty two students. The instruments in this research were essay test for physics cognitive competence of students and observation sheet for science process skill of students. The essay instrument had been validated and fulfilled the requirements of validity and reliability of test. Based on the data tabulation obtained, the mean of physics cognitive competence of students in experimental class was 72.97 and 54.97 in control class, the mean of science process skill of students in experimental class was 79.66 and 63.97 in control class. Based on the hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that physics cognitive competence and science process skill of students using scientific inquiry learning model based on conceptual change was better than using conventional learning 1. Introduction Studying physics does not only focus to the facts, law, theory, principle, models, and mastery the formulas but also focus to understand the basic concepts. Concepts are abstract or psychological constructs represent ideas that a learner uses in reasoning and thinking. They constitute the general tools of inquiry used in making sense of the world and are the most significant influence in learning. In Physics, Learner's existing concepts are known to have a profound influence on how phenomena is interpreted, and learners draw on these concepts in making predictions and explaining what they see and experience in the world (Heywood &Parker, 2019). Studying physics also requires more than just learning about the products of science like concept. The culture of science involves very special actions called science process skill. The science process skills describe the actions or active doing within the culture of science that students can develop through practice and provide benefits to the classroom that extends beyond science learning. Thus, Teachers, in terms of supporting their students' science learning are challenged to achieve a balance between science concepts and process skills. Based on the observation and interview result from Physics teacher at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Medan Nort Sumatera Indonesia obtained, students' learning outcomes in cognitive domain was still in low level because they are still less ability to solve the problems related to the physics concept and they are mostly concerned to the formula and calculation. Thus, students felt so difficult to apply what they have known in their daily life situation. This was indicated from physics means grades of students before remedial in academic year 2014/2015 with grade 69, this average value has not achieved the standard grades, that is 70. Moreover, students science process skill is also in low level which is indicated from the unusual of students to conduct experiments in learning physics, meant learning physics just theoretically. Besides, learning which familiarized conducts by teacher are direct instruction and cooperative learning where methods are lectured, discussion, investigation, and mapping concept. But, all these models have not conducted as the phases of each model. This condition make students have not familiarized to find knowledge by themselves through scientific inquiry, thus students cannot provide explanations based on evidence. Most of student's difficulties in learning physics are not caused by lacking of their understanding because they often come to school with already formed ideas on many topics, including how they view and interpret the world around themselves. Students have ideas about the world that are very different from the ideas of scientists which delivered in the class. Thus, teacher needs listening to how learner explain their understanding because that's not possible that their ideas are certain logics, therefore it is inappropriate to dismiss their thinking as errors that simply need to be corrected. Furthermore, teacher needs to develop learning that would move learners away from their initial ideas so they became aligned with accepted scientific explanations. This label suggests that students are using evidence to support their explanation and that way is consistent with the actions within the culture of science. This kind of learning is called as conceptual change.

This study aimed to analyze whether the result of students' problem-solving ability with using problem-based learning model better than conventional learning, to analyze the results of problem-solving ability of students who have high average of adversity quotient better than students who have low average of adversity quotient, to find out interaction between problem-based learning model mapping and adversity quotient of students' problem-solving ability. Two class of students namely; problem-based learning class and conventional learning class were investigated on student's problem-solving ability. The results showed that: problem-solving ability of students used problem-based learning model better than conventional learning, problem-solving ability of students who have high average of adversity quotient better than students who have the low average of adversity quotient, and there was interaction between the problem-based learning model and conventional learning with adversity quotient to improve students' problem-solving ability.
