This paper sets out to critically discuss and analyse both the scholarly and general implementation of the word 'myth' as designator of style, narrative, and cultural significance, within film studies and adjacent academic fields. This is done through an examination of scholarly discourse surrounding the topics of mythology, folk tale, and fairy tale, specifically in regard to Fritz Lang's film Die Nibelungen: Siegfried (1924), and, albeit to a lesser extent, its sequel Die Nibelungen: Kriemhild's Rache (1924). Studies of folkloric narratives within other disciplines are also considered, particularly those that have exercised direct influence on the development of film criticism, such as psychoanalysis. Finally, drawing on film studies, folkloristics, and literature studies, the most prominent parts of this text provide analysis of Die Nibelungen in the light of this discourse.

What's in a word? In both Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles (1950) and Joanna Russ's The Female Man (1975), it is through language that the central conflicts of both novels emerge. On a superficial level, these conflicts are a question of an intrinsic duality: Martians and Earthlings on the one hand, and women and men on the other. Dig deeper, however, and the conflict reveals itself to really be a question of contemporary societal conceptions of reality clashing with those aspects of reality which that conception in itself cannot abide, meaning those things which a 'normative' construction of the world does not includea reified lie which has language serving as its most primary foundation.

Culture is a factor, which is an essential aspect in language teaching and learning. Despite the complexity of defining the concept, students can be made aware of culture through a variety of teaching materials. This paper reviews literature as a tool to teach cultural awareness in the EFL classroom. Using literature in the classroom and offering students the opportunity to encounter different cultures are stated in the Swedish curriculum. Given the particular importance of the relation between literature and culture, three aspects have been looked into in this review. Firstly, what genres of literature have been mostly used and are typically preferred among students? Secondly, how has teaching cultural awareness through literature been approached and what sorts of teaching strategies and methods have been applied? Lastly, what aspects need to be considered and what does educators need to take into consideration when selecting literature for students? The findings show that literatu...

Artificial intelligence is something the world has only just been starting to get a grasp on. The race for who can create the best model is taking place all around the globe. In archaeology, the usage of programs like these is tested every day and through many trials, usable solutions are slowly being born. Artificial intelligence is something the public knows mostly from movies, however, the reality is different from what is often shown. The things within our grasp are currently very different from the ones in fiction. In reality, we have only just begun to excavate the possibilities of what it can do. The purpose of this paper is to highlight what we currently can accomplish with artificial intelligence in both bone mark identification and satellite imagery. The idea is also to ascertain what the current limitations of artificial intelligence are in archaeology and how they might be improved.
