This paper is an attempt to " Study the effect of Human Resource Practices on the performance of ... more This paper is an attempt to " Study the effect of Human Resource Practices on the performance of textile processing units in Tamil Nadu ". India is the second largest textile industry in the world and the textile industry has been facing new challenges in work environment which necessitated the requirement of new technology, talent and ability in Human resources. It further explores the different HRM practices in textile industry and has critically reviewed in this paper, in which a descriptive design has adopted. A research survey was conducted in order to collect the primary data which was structured around demographic profile, general background and opinions on several HRM practices in selected textile processing units. The general background findings give an idea of the presence of active HRM department, presence of well-defined HRM practices and policies, consistency between the discourses of HR policies and if HR department provides with training opportunities in order to enhance their skills and career path. The HRM practices which the researcher has considered are staffing practices,training and technology development practices, performance appraisals, compensations and incentive related practices, unionization practices, team work and employee participation practices and work conditions and related practices. The most effective practices were found to be staffing and training practices, unionization practices and also compensation and incentive practices.

The main objective of HRM in any organization is to manage employees to enhance quality of the work environment in a way to improve the productivity and sustainability. In other words, HRM takes different measure to address the problems encountered by employees in order to provide a healthy working environment to achieve the company goal more efficiently and effectively. These measures are often known as HR Practices. In this study, the impact of paradigm shift in HR Practices on employee life style and career development, with reference to banking sector in India, has been analyzed thoroughly. Banking industry, being one of the most crucial parts of economy in India, has seen huge changes in the past few decades. Though, recently there have been some improvements observed in the HR Practices conducted in different banks in India, there still is a long way to catch up for them to achieve the potential performance. This study has pointed out some significantly influencing HR Practices to be paid attention to, in order to bridge the gaps and see a drastic upswing in the overall performance of the banks.

The main objective of this paper is to determine an impact of Human Resource Management (HRM) practices and policies on employee’s organizational commitment in textile spinning mills in Tamil Nadu, India. The present study uses descriptive and explanatory approach, the data collected through distribution of close-ended questionnaire among100 employees working in five prominent textile spinning mills in Tamil Nadu, India. The data also collected from secondary sources like journals, newspaper, working papers, thesis, etc. The data collected was tested the frequency(descriptive analysis) and correlation and ‘t’ test, to establish the causality between HRM practices and organizational commitment. As per the finding, out of five HRM practices, training and development, welfare activities and compensation & benefits have emerged as the best practices in impacting organizational commitment. Findings from the study recommend that in order to improve the organizational commitment, the compensation should be improved, promotions should be introduced, and the supervisors should encourage the participation of employee training programs.

Human Resource Management is the utilization of human resources which denotes practices like recruitment and selection, training, compensation and performance appraisal. In this study, these HR practices have been explained in relation to Job Satisfaction (N= 100) among the employees of Textile industry. The resultsindicate that employees from textile industry of Tamilnadu, were satisfied with recruitment and training and development HR practices employed within the industry. However, it is also observed that employees are not satisfied with compensation and performance appraisal practices. Recommendations have been provided at the end to improve the satisfaction among employees.

Human Resource practices refer to those strategies human resource managers applies in order to affect success of an organization. Human Resource programs are implemented for and experienced by lower-level employees and managers. Therefore, Human Resource practices capture the potential for variation in employees' perceptions and experiences.
