This book presents recent brazilian researches on Animation Cinema and its interfaces with other ... more This book presents recent brazilian researches on Animation Cinema and its interfaces with other artistic languages, especially digital arts. In the first part - Animation Stories - the chapters cover historical aspects, such as animator Marcos Magalhães account of his experience as coordinator of the first Animation Center of Brazil in 1985, at Embrafilme's Audiovisual Technical Center, CTAV - RJ, until the creation from Anima Mundi Festival; or the historical relationship between animation and documentary in pioneering films such as The Sinking of the Lusitania (1918) by USA cartoonist Winsor McCay; or Super Drags (2018), the first fully Brazilian original Netflix animation. The second part - Processes and Techniques - brings an article about the Creative Movement in character animation, a topic still little investigated by scientific research in Brazil; about the graphic singularity in the drawing of the animator Marcelo Marão and about a historical background and procedures in films created directly on film, among other texts. In the third part - Technological Poetics - visual artist Henrique Roscoe shares strategies for producing live audiovisual works in which ways of making Visual Music and Generative Art are present. Botanical Computational Art and some relations between dance, music and audiovisual are proposed in the last chapters. This way we aim to contribute to the expanded animation, opening perspectives and boosting new researches in the area.
