School is a place for students to study. We often encounter in the classroom there are many
students who are less enthusiastic in class learning and are less responsive to what is
conveyed by the teacher. Sometimes learn and feel bored with the learning model as in
general where the teacher explains and listens carefully, so as educators need to conduct selfevaluation and improve the quality of learning in class. For this matter, improving the quality
of learning in the classroom can be done in many ways and the most important is the role of a
teacher in increasing student interest in learning. One way a teacher can increase students'
interest in learning in the classroom can be done by using interesting learning media in each
material to be delivered. Learning media has a very important role to increase students'
interest in learning, especially in low grades, because low grade students have not been able
to think abstractly like classroom students in general, so all teachers learn to teach by
providing visualization or imagination in a more real way so that it is easy to understand. In
psychology, learning media is very helpful for the psychological development of children in
terms of learning. In addition, the use of media in the learning process can also provide a
meaningful experience for students. So it can be said that the use of media in the teaching and
learning process is very influential on three things, among others, on the teacher, on the
students, and on the learning process in the classroom. so that in designing learning media
there are several steps that must be considered, namely: (1) the media must be designed as
simple as possible so that it is clear and easily understood by students; (2) the media should
be designed according to the subject to be taught; (3) media should be designed not too
complicated and not make children confused; (4) media should be made as simple as possible
but not to reduce the real meaning and function. (5) media can be in the form of models,
pictures, structured charts, etc., but with cheap and easily available materials. so that it does
not make it difficult for teachers to design the media in question.
