    Identifying which crop is growing in certain areas is important to many national and multinational agricultural agencies for forecasting grain supplies, monitoring farming activity, facilitating crop rotation records, etc. In order to achieve that, the agencies require to schedule censuses on a regular basis. Recently, different techniques based on remote sensing have been applied to collect the information and perform a crop classification task. In this paper, we described a methodology to perform a crop classification task based on the Gray Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM) and the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm. The proposed methodology selects the set of features from the GLCM that allow classify the crops with a good accuracy using the ABC algorithm in terms of a distance classifier. The accuracy of the proposed methodology was tested over a specific region of Mexico and compared against different distance classifiers.

    Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) breeding lines (BL) UPR‐Mp‐34 (Reg no. CV‐313, PI 701379) and UPR‐Mp‐42 (Reg no. CV‐314, PI 701380) were developed at the University of Puerto Rico. UPR‐Mp‐34 was derived from A 195/‘PC 50’//SEA 5, and UPR‐Mp‐42 was developed from BAT 477/NY6020‐4//PRA154 common bean populations. Both BL have intermediate levels of resistance (mean scores, 4–6) to two inoculations of the PRI21 Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goidanich isolate (the causal agent of ashy stem blight) compared with BAT 477, SEA 5, TARS‐MST1, and XAN 176, which mostly had susceptible scores (7–9) in the greenhouse and field evaluations. UPR‐Mp‐34 has an indeterminate growth habit Type III, has a cream seed (average weight, 26.5 g per 100 seeds), initiates flowering at 32 d after planting, and reaches harvesting maturity at 86 d. Mean seed yield was 730 and 340 kg ha−1 in Isabela and Lajas, respectively. UPR‐Mp‐42 possesses black seed (23.8 g per 100 seeds), has a determinate growth habit Type I, initiates flowering at 30 d, and matures at 76 d. Mean seed yield was 750 kg ha−1 in both locations. The intermediate levels of ashy stem blight resistance from both BL could be combined with other sources of resistance and introgressed into common bean cultivars from different market classes.

    En el presente trabajo se propone el uso de código desarrollado por Sergey Makarov para modelar campos EM en antenas de parche mediante algoritmos de resolución MoM optimizados que proporcionan resultados similares a programas propietarios sin el coste económico que ello supone al tratarse de código libre.In recent years, the needs in the development of integrated, miniaturized and low cost telecommunication systems require the implementation of low weight and profile antennas, with good performance in certain frequency bands. We have worked on the simulation of patch antennas with power supply through a probe positioned to achieve impedance adaptation. MAT Makarov's libraries for Matlab has been the tool with which square and rectangular patch antennas have been modeled. In order to obtain rectangular directive antennas, an antenna of ¿/2 was used in the dimensions W and L and the dimension W was multiplied in multiples of ¿. In each case, the frequency of operation, radiation patterns and surface currents among other parameters have been analyzed.
