    The objective of this study is to find out the link between speaking anxiety and speaking achievement of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 03 Palembang. The method used was correlational study. The data were collected by using questionnaire of speaking anxiety and speaking test of speaking achievement. One hundred seventeen students were involved in the study and the data were analyzed by test analysis. The result showed that 3,4% students had high anxiety, 68,3% students had medium anxiety, and 28,2% students had low anxiety. Besides that, the result also showed 5,1% students had very good speaking achievement, 59,8% students had good speaking achievement, 32,4% students had  fair  speaking achievement  and 2,5% students had poor speaking achievement. There was no link between speaking anxiety  and  their  speaking  achievement  since  the  correlation  coefficient  or  r- obtained (-0.167) was lower that r-table (0.1816), and p-output  (0.071) higher than (0.05).

    This research is a quantitative research that aims to determine the effect of extraversion personality interactions and agreeableness on the work involvement of lecturers at Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang, South Sumatra. The focus of this research is on the personality of the lecturer and aims to explore the influence of the interaction between extraversion and agreeableness on work involvement. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The form of analysis of the validity of exploratory factor analysis and through the SPSS program, the results concludedit does not thatindicate that the interaction between extraversion and agreeableness has a positive and significant influence on work involvement.     This research focuses on the types of cohesive and coherence devices which are used in the students recount writing. In this research, the researcher analyzing grammatical cohesive device and transition signal as a coherence devices. This study was descriptive qualitative method. The data sources are taken from 25 recount texts made by students at tenth grade of Senior High School 10 Kota Jambi. In this research, the data collected through documentation. The data were analyzed used Mayring’s theory which is consists of data categorization, abstraction, coding the text and result. The finding of this study showed that the grammatical cohesive devices found in the data except ellipsis. In term of coherence devices there are two coherence devices found in the data, namely transition signal to introduce an additional idea and transition signal to opposite idea.

    This present study aimed to find out the senior high school students’ English proficiency. The study employed descriptive quantitative design. It took place at Madrasah Aliyah Labor Kota Jambi. There were 104 students of Madrasah Aliyah Labor purposefully selected in the study. The data were collected through English proficiency test for basic users namely Key English Test (KET). Descriptive statistics was employed to analyze the data. The result of this study revealed that four students (3.8%) were categorized as beginners (level A1) while the rest (96.2%) were not included in the entry level of Common European of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as their scores were lower than those of the beginner level. Moreover, based on the result of reading and writing test in KET analyzed by using the criteria used at school, the students scored low in both sessions.

    Plagiarism has become a stressful problem in the academic world. In higher education, students must write a scientific paper that is free from plagiarism. Many referencing styles are offered to enable the writers to produce the proper scientific works. This study aimed to produce a module on academic writing for English department students. The module focused on writing citations based on APA style references, including in-text citation, paraphrasing, and summarizing. It was a research and development study that involved fifth-semester students. The samples were selected purposively. The data were collected by using interviews, questionnaires, and tests to see the product's validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The sample of this study was taken from the population by using purposive sampling. The experimental group consisted of 39 students while the control group consisted of 35 students.     The objectives of this study were to find out whether or not (1) Macromedia Flash enhanced students’ writing competence, and (2) there was significant difference between the students taught by using Macromedia Flash and those who were not. This study employed quasi experimental design, pretest and posttest nonequivalent groups. There were 39 students of one of junior high schools in Jambi participating in this study. They were grouped in two different classes. The experimental group consisted of 20 students while the other 19 students were in control group. The data were collected by using writing test. Students’ paragraphs writing scores in pretest and posttest were analyzed through the use of paired sample and independent sample t-test statistical analysis.
