В статье представлены некоторые результаты эмпирического исследования кризис-менеджмента в сфере туризма в Польше. Главная цель работы – изучить сложную взаимосвязь между менеджментом в туристической компании в условиях кризиса и обучаемостью организации. Мы исходим из предположения, что эффективность менеджмента в ситуации кризиса зависит как от эффективности процесса самообучения, что приводит к ее преодолению, так и от способности использовать ситуацию кризиса в качестве полигона для такого обучения. Данное исследование является методологическим приглашением к изучению кризис-менеджмента в туризме с позиций организационного обучения.

The methodological basis for the referred research is the interpretive approach, which is already well-established in management studies. The purpose of interpretive research is to understand how members of groups, by participating in social processes, establish certain realities and give them meaning, and also show how these meanings, beliefs, and intentions help in working out the social behaviors of the group members. The main objective of the research undertaken by the author is to explore the complex relations between management of a tourist enterprise in a crisis situation and organizational learning. The communiqué presents some methodological assumptions of research into organizational crisis management. The subject of research, both theoretical and empirical, is crisis management in an enterprise from the point of view of organizational learning. There are some paradoxes in crises and in using common practices during a crisis. These paradoxes constitute the research field for recomposition of various models of crisis management in enterprises.

The concept of knowledge management has gained significant recognition among theoreticians and practitioners over the past decade. The concept was introduced as a certain idea – a proposal intended to guarantee high performance. When radical changes take place in the economic, social and political surroundings, successful companies are those that consistently create new knowledge, disseminate it widely throughout the organization, and quickly embody it in new technologies and products. The article presents the spiral of knowledge during creating conference packages in the Holiday Inn Krakow City Center hotel. The Japanese concept of knowledge creation by the spiral can be recognized as a universal for every enterprise, the variable is only the length of particular phases as it refers to the type of the company as well as to the methods of creating new products or services.

The article presents certain ways of understanding a learning organization and its characteristic features. It also contains the results of a study of twenty–seven Polish enterprises facilitating diagnosis of their learning ability. It has been shown that learning ability is connected with the performance of the enterprise. The study results make possible the drawing of the conclusion that the learning ability of the examined companies tends to be mediocre.
