The author sees his goal in showing that the traditionally low assessment of these works by Plato is unfair. Thus, the article provides analysis of the “minor” dialogues in terms of their role in the implementation of Plato’s educational strategies.

Prokopenko Vladymyr. Philosophy in a time of crisis: the Greek case.
VERSUS. – 2015. – № 1 (5).  – С.56 – 62.

On the example of crucial turn in
philosophy which happened in Athens at
the end of V–IV centuries and became a
pre-condition for classical Greek
philosophy to emerge, the author analyzes
the way philosophy was doing in the
situation of crisis, its ability to change itself
and reshape its relationship with society. In
the researcher’s opinion, the epoch of
Greek polis crisis offered philosophers a
number of various forms to survive in bad
society, the majority of which was based
either on shameless servilisme or on
reasonable but weak-hearted escapism.
The process of Greek philosophy appeal to
the tasks of moral and political education is
studied. The Greek wisdom in the person
of Plato made its choice and, having
realized its educative purpose, having
turned into παιδεία, became not just
physiophilosophy as proto-science, but
came to birth as philosophy in the full
sense of this word.

The article, which relates to history of ancient philosophy, is dedicated to analysis of the Plato`s dialogue Meno. The detailed examination of the dialogue leads us to the conclusion, that there`s a deep connection between Meno and other dialogues of Plato  such as Phaedrus, Phaedo and Theaetetus. First, it refers to the theory of ideas and conception of the recollection. This link explains by the special place and role of "Meno" in the structure of Plato`s paideia. "Meno" is the transition from maieutic education to the dialectical one.

The dialogues of Plato, turned to the names of sophists, are analysed in the article. An author considers that they make an separate integral group in the Corpus Platonicum and asserts that their unity is determined by a general aim of these “sophistical dialogues” in Plato`s paideitical program. He asserts that, the main task of these dialogues is making of immunity to sophistry indifference to truth. For the ground of this idea author makes an attempt to investigate dramaturgy, poetics and rhetoric of these dialogues.
