Following Niklas Luhmann, the author assumes that communication creates social systems. The system therefore influences the nature of communication. The impact of rhetoric on media discourse can be understood as a result of the strategy adopted by the system. What follows from the above assumption is a discussion of the notion of truth which is fundamental to media philosophy. Systems, in their adopted strategies, affect the media and use persuasion in a way that is remote from the treatment of the truth as an idea or as a condition of an ethical nature.

The narration in the music video to Celine Dion’s song All By Myself is a linearly organised construct or composition equipped with features of logicality, which organises specific linguistic or image-based material. It constructs a fiction based on the principles of dramatism. If one assumes that a music video can be analysed as a system which produces meaning, then the production occurs mainly within two dimensions. Firstly, as fiction, and secondly, as narration. The sequential editing adds significance to the entire film. The specific connection points of individual scenes influence the interpretation of the images by viewers – they extract the significance of a portion of the music video. Surely this phenomenon could be defined as a production of sense.

The politics of memory and culture of the Polish People’s Republic alludes to Ideologiekritik in its idiosyncratic way characterized by Marxist utopianism. In reality, this leads to reversing this theory. The causes of fascism are seen in “German imperialism”. For political and strategic reasons the German Democratic Republic becomes one of the main partners of the Polish People’s Republic, with regard to which it is capable of accomplishing the guidelines of its policy in the cultural dimension. This is accompanied by an intensive cultural exchange between the two countries. In the language of official politics manifested, for instance, in the strategy of publishing houses of the Polish People’s Republic the culture of the two countries develop in a parallel fashion, which is an obvious product of the propaganda.

The article discusses the activities of Nazi propaganda in Litzmannstadt. It promotes the central notions of the Nazi ideology, such as Volk, land, and leadership in struggle. The purpose of political and military operations was to restore and maintain the ability to culturally dominate other nations. The Nazi state was ethnically, lin guistically and racially homogeneous – it knew not the notion of tolerance towards ethnic minorities. A major characteristic of the propaganda was it its influence on the activities of administrative bodies.

The paper deals with issues regarding the disenchantment of literature stemming from the instrumental approach in literary studies. It highlights cases of resistance to this disenchantment of literature both in academic and literary works. The instrumental lecture is contrasted with the creative one, which results from opening up to otherness contained within the text. The creation of unassimilated otherness is the drving force of the literary avant-garde, which uses it as a defence against scientific disenchantment. Possible reasons for the feeling of literary disenchantment are discussed in this paper and the validity of such fears is taken into consideration.

Dzieła braci Coen wpisują się w nurt kina postmodernistycznego, jednak najjaśniejszym w tym kontekście punktem ich twórczości, jest "Big Lebowski". Aby zakwalifikować obraz ten do tego nurtu, należy dokonać jego analizy, czego dokonuję w tymże eseju.

Praca zawiera analizę wybranych przykładów filmowych gatunku science fiction dotyczących problematyki „rzeczywistości tymczasowej”. Autorka w swoich rozważaniach odnosi się do poszczególnych odcinków serialu „Czarne lustro”, bazując na pojęciu „awatar”, a także korzystając z teorii symulakrów Jeana Baudrillarda. Ponadto, umiejscawia wybrane w kontekście społeczno-kulturowym, podejmując się próby ich syntezy. W tym celu proponuje termin „rzeczywistość hybrydowa” odnoszący się zarówno do sfery świata filmowego, jak i zachodzących współcześnie przemian technologicznych.

The thesis includes analysis of the selected examples of science fiction films related to the „temporal reality” issue. The author delves into the several „Black mirror” episodes, basing on the „avatar” concept and using the Jean Baudrillard’s simulacra theory. Moreover, she puts particular phenomenons into the socio-cultural context, trying to syntesize them. To do that, she proposes the „hybrid reality” term, which relates to the both of the film realm and modern technological transformations.

Die Adressaten der vorgelegten Arbeit sind sowohl Linguisten als auch Juristen – aber zweifellos mit einem Hinweis auf die ersten. Sie – insbesondere diejenigen, die sich mit Lexikologie und Lexikographie befassen – sind zunächst mit dem lexikalischen Fortschritt von Sprachen (einschließlich Deutsch) konfrontiert, der sich aus der zunehmenden Integration des Fachvokabulars in die allgemeine Sprache ergibt. Wie bei der Assimilation der IT-Terminologie nach der Verbreitung der Computerisierung in fast allen Bereichen des Lebens- und Zivilisationsmodells führte die Rechtskultur der Gesellschaft, die durch die neuen sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Realitäten erzwungen wurde, dazu, dass ein erheblicher Teil der Rechtsterminologie von Fachlexika in das allgemeine Vokabular übertragen wurde.

Rechtsterminologie erscheint in allgemeinen Wörterbüchern in der Regel in Form separater Sememe in der lexikografischen Mikrostruktur – seltener als Element der Makrostruktur. Diese Tatsache setzt die Benutzer dieser Wörterbücher, die normalerweise keine Experten sind, leicht der daraus resultierenden Interferenz aus.

Ziel des Arbeitsvorhabens ist es, an ausgewählten Beispielen aus dem zusammengetragenen Korpus, die Rechtssprache und die Gemeinsprache auf deren Überschneidungen, Ähnlichkeiten und Divergenzen auf der semantischen Ebene zu beschreiben und hierbei das Störungspotenzial offen zu legen, das sich aus solcher unterschiedlichen Bedeutungsgebung ergibt.
