Anton Bendarjevskiy
Anton Bendarjevskiy was born in the capital of Belarus, Minsk, in 1985. He is living in Hungary since 1995. Anton was studying at the University of Pécs, gaining his MA diplomas at Media and Communication and History, and had also one semester scholarship at University of Leicester, studying political science. In 2006-2007 Anton was doing an internship as reporter at the regional studio of Hungarian National Television, MTV. In addition to his managerial experience in the business sector (IBM, Priceline Group), he is a journalist of biggest Hungarian foreign policy news portal, Kitekintő, which has 40 000 readers daily. Since December 2009 Anton is leading the post-soviet department at Kitekintő. He is specializing in the internal- and foreign policy of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, in addition to energy security and security politics.
As the editor of Kitekintő he has written over five hundred articles and analyses up to date, and in addition had publications in different other online and print media. He is a regular guest of different international conferences and forums dealing with the topics he is writing about. And has also taken part in other important projects: for European Integration Fund series of articles were prepared about the situation of minorities living in Hungary, and one of his biggest project so far was the Chernobyl project. On the 25anniversary of Chernobyl catastrophe he has travelled to Ukraine, Chernobyl, investigating the current situation in the exclusion zone. He has prepared series of articles about it, and made a film about Chernobyl (“Chernobyl’s Heritage: the Zone”-http://youtu.be/Qkzm_Vf5AFs). The film was screened on all major Hungarian channels and cinemas across the country.
Since 2011 he is a regular guest of Hungarian media as an expert of post-soviet countries, and as such regularly appear on the news of M1, HírTv, TV2, ATV, RTL Klub, LáncHíd Radio, InfoRadio and Kossuth Radio.
Since March 2015 Anton is the head of institute at Pallas Athéné Geopolitical Foundation (PAGEO), Geopolitical Institute of Russia and Central-Asia.
