THE ORDINANCES OF VACA DE CASTRO – 1543 The objective of this text is to go through the royal roads according to the Ordenanzas de Tambos made by Cristóbal Vaca de Castro. In order to locate the Tambos in the contemporary map, it was necessary to search them one by one taking into consideration the distances between them. In some cases, these tambos have become towns, even cities but in other cases given the changes in the routes have been abandoned. Another objective of this article was to draw attention to the exploitation of the indigenous people. Described ordinances can be considered as first regulations of the workforce and first in the fight against the extortion of the natives.
