The following study compares the performance of different heuristic methods to solve the problem of optimal location of transformers in power distribution networks.
The work aims to find or techniques which have the best performance for the problem at hand. In principle the solution of the problem of location of transformers is analyzed as turn restrictions of the problem themselves. Then, the optimization algorithms covered in the course are compared to later verify the performance of each of these.

This paper has analyzed the optimal location of TDs, for which the study has focused in [2], which has developed a methodology, based on genetic algorithms to determine the size, location, number of distribution transformers that supply the necessary power to the voltage levels established for low voltage electrical networks, in addition to finding the radial topology associated with each distribution transformer. The aim of this work is to minimize the total cost of investment includes the unit cost of distribution transformers, the cost of power losses and power lines and transformers, and the cost of construction of medium voltage lines feeding the transformer. We have developed a method for single-objective optimization based on genetic algorithms that is able to find the best solution to the problem, or at least as close as possible to a global optimum.

In the present report we analyze network
distribution of full-concepts are analyzed as
voltage regulation, chargeability, lost in the lines between
other aspects. Possible solutions to them are set
considering the current Chilean regulations. Flow analysis
charge shall be made by simulation using DigSilent

In this report we review aspects
policy governing reliability standards stipulated
by Chilean standards, which requires the calculation of four
fmit indicators, FMIK, TTIT and TTIK. Furthermore it makes a
description of international indexes defined by the North
Amercian Electric reability Council (NERC), which
classified into two groups: customer oriented and
oriented loading and energy. Further develop the
respective calculations for these.
