This study adds to the current body of literature by providing insight into the impact of transformational leadership and employee engagement on employee performance in the porcelain manufacturing companies in Sri Lanka, and on the empirical ground, some of the findings and judgements of this study may be important to other organizations to make their employees engaged, develop and increase employee performance towards the organizations.

Health and safety practices bring about umpteen perks to every industry. Building construction industry garners the optimum advantageousness through health and safety practices in order to enhance the employee job performance towards the realizing of its objectives. This study aims to furnish the existing research gap by thoroughly scrutinizing the aforementioned impact in the context of Sri Lankan building construction industry with specifying the skilled labourers. Further, this study broadens the study area by examining the mediating effect of employee commitment to the relationship between health and safety practices and employee job performance. The study was conducted on a sample of 175 skilled labors, and selected by convenient sampling method. Data analysis was carried out with SPSS 23 version analytical software and descriptive, correlation and regression analysis were accompanied. Eventually, the findings reveal that the health and safety practices have a positive and significant impact over employee job performance and employee commitment. Further, it elaborated the positive and significant impact of employee job performance on employee commitment. Moreover, employee commitment contributed positive mediating effect to the relationship of health and safety practices and employee job performance. Hence, the study findings crucially elaborate the rationality of health and safety practices towards the sustainabilitydevelopment of building construction industry by improving job performance of employees with commitment.

The aim of this study is to bridge an empirical gap, i.e., there is no mediating effect of employee engagement on the relationship between green orientation and employee job performance in the Sri Lanka military context. Employee engagement is the employee’s head, heart and hand involvement in their job as well as their organization. Employee job performance is a main consequence of employee engagement. Purpose The purpose of the article is to investigate the role of talent management and employee psychological contract on employer branding and to develop a pragmatic conceptual model while identifying gaps between core concepts. Design/methodology/approach The archival method was adopted along with systematic review based on Khan et al.’s (2003) five steps of systematic literature review. The systematic review has enclosed published research articles between 1960 and 2022 in fields of human resource management (HRM), brand management and psychology. Abstract This paper empirically examines the role of psychological empowerment on human resource-related performance outcomes among Generation Y employees in the hotel industry in Sri Lanka. Data were gathered from 254 Generation Y employees in 67 hotels using a structured questionnaire. These data reveal a significant positive relationship between psychological empowerment and human resource outcomes, except for turnover intention. The findings provide crucial insights for hotel managers as they design empowerment structures and strategies to heighten human resource-related performance outcomes that may lead to competitive advantage. This study is limited to Generation Y employees in the hotel industry in Sri Lanka.

In today’s world of business, the role of quality among employees is imperative for companies to survive in the competitive in global market. Hence, performance management practices (PMP) have been indispensable for companies. This study intended to scrutinize whether employee capacity, years of existence and ownership of listed companies relate to PMP in Sri Lanka. The companies that have been listed in the Colombo Stock Exchange were selected as the sample for the study and, with a firm level unit of analysis, a self-administered survey was conducted covering all the companies using the five point Likert scale of 27 statements. 244 questionnaires were distributed among either human resource manager or performance managers or human resource development manager respondents on behalf of the company and 216 returned questionnaires were deemed usable for further analysis amounting to 88% response rate.
