Aw Yeah Revolution! is a comic book mini-series published by IDW Publishing in 2017. A humorous spoof of the Revolution crossover event targeted at young (and young-at-heart) readers, it is written and drawn by Art Baltazar, one half of the creative team of other such funny, kid-oriented books like Tiny Titans (not those Tiny Titans), Superman Family Adventures, and Itty Bitty Hellboy.

Overview

Microspace tyrant Baron Karza sets his sights on the greatest power on the universe, bringing him into conflict with the Micronauts, the Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Rom!

Notes

  • "Aw Yeah!" is a commonly-shouted catchphrase in Baltazar's comic works, originating as the catchphrase of the Tiny Titans—"Aw Yeah Titans!"—and later becoming the title of Baltazar's series, Aw Yeah Comics! Technically speaking, this series is actually titled Revolution: Aw Yeah! in the indicia and solicitations, but that's just for alphabetical cataloging purposes. That's no fun, it obfuscates the reference, and the cover itself says "Aw Yeah Revolution!" so we've put this article there because we're not joyless automatons.
  • Though it only wound up being three issues long, the series was originally solicited for five issues. This change in plans was likely the reason for the extensive four-month delay in the release of issues #2 and #3. The solicit for issue 4 read: "Because you demanded it... OPTIMUS PRIME joins COBRA! They say it could never happen! They say it couldn’t be done! COBRA sees and conquers and takes what they want! TRANSFORMERS can surely be a huge prize, especially if their leader is mind controlled! The end of all existence is near!"

  • Aw Yeah! Hasbro Action Figure Jam (October 25, 2017) ISBN 1631409875 / ISBN 978-1631409875
    • Bonus material currently unknown.
    • Hardcover format.
    • Interestingly, the trade abandoned the "Revolution" in the title and instead went with "Hasbro Action Figure Jam", perhaps due to the length of time since the Revolution event and the fact that the next crossover was being published at the time.
