A pesar de esto, las dificultades pragmaticas y, en especial, en habilidades de comunicacion verbal han sido poco abordadas en esta poblacion de pacientes. Objetivos: Nos propusimos estudiar las habilidades de comunicacion verbal en una muestra de paciente VIH-1, mediante la aplicacion del Protocolo MEC. Metodo: Se evaluaron 20 pacientes que asistian al servicio de Infectologia del Hospital Thompson (San Martin, provincia de Buenos Aires) y que cumplian con los siguientes criterios de inclusion: 18 anos o mas, VIH-1 positivo, hablantes nativos de espanol, sin alteraciones en la adquisicion del lenguaje, la lectura o la escritura, sin antecedentes de enfermedad neurologica o psiquiatrica, pacientes que reciben TARV -Tratamiento antirretroviral- o que no reciben TARV (que no incluya efavirenz/ con carga viral detectable [>50 cop/mL]). Uno de los desafios que plantea esta enfermedad es la heterogeneidad de los sintomas con que se presenta: desde delirios y alucinaciones hasta problemas de afectividad, comportamiento catatonico y disfunciones linguisticas. Esta enfermedad afecta profundamente la calidad de vida de quienes la padecen, ya que sus relaciones interpersonales y su desempeno en las actividades cotidianas se encuentran severamente afectadas. Todos estos motivos han impulsado multiples investigaciones cientificas. We set out to study how different domain-general and linguistic abilities explain text comprehension in a population of secondary school students with low educational opportunities. The sample consisted of 45 adolescents between the ages of 13 and 15 from two secondary schools in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Each participant was evaluated both in-group and individually for three sessions during school hours. A text comprehension screening test and a battery of tasks that measure different underlying cognitive processes were administered. Nos propusimos analizar el rendimiento de un grupo de pacientes LHD en una tarea de comprension de discurso narrativo. Fueron evaluados 9 pacientes LHD y 9 sujetos controles con la prueba de interpretacion de discurso narrativo del Protocolo MEC (Ferreres et al., 2007). Uno de los desafíos que plantea esta enfermedad es la heterogeneidad de los síntomas con que se presenta: desde delirios y alucinaciones hasta problemas de afectividad, comportamiento catatónico y disfunciones lingüísticas. Esta enfermedad afecta profundamente la calidad de vida de quienes la padecen, ya que sus relaciones interpersonales y su desempeño en las actividades cotidianas se encuentran severamente afectadas. Todos estos motivos han impulsado múltiples investigaciones científicas. Desde el punto de vista comunicativo, se plantea que el nivel pragmático del lenguaje es el más afectado y que esta alteración podría ser la causa de los graves problemas en el funcionamiento social de los individuos. A pesar de que la comprensión y la producción del lenguaje literal se conserven, el rendimiento con enunciados no literales es deficitario. Para la presente investigación, realizaremos una breve revisión sobre la investigación en esquizofrenia desde fines del siglo XIX hasta la actualidad. Luego, expondremos cuáles son las alteraciones comunicativas a nivel pragmático que se han encontrado en esta población y explicaremos qué se entiende por pragmática y cuáles son las habilidades involucradas en la comunicación interpersonal a las que nos exponemos como usuarios de la lengua. A continuación, enumeraremos los resultados obtenidos por los exponentes de la investigación en alteraciones comunicativas en esquizofrenia y presentaremos los distintos modelos que buscan explicar las alteraciones registradas en esta población.

Desde la consolidación de Uruguay como estado nacional se implementaron políticas lingüísticas ca... more Desde la consolidación de Uruguay como estado nacional se implementaron políticas lingüísticas castellanizadoras en los ámbitos de conformación ciudadana. Esta legislación sobre la lengua, en la zona fronteriza de Uruguay con Brasil, contribuyó al surgimiento de una situación diglósica entre los dialectos portugueses del Uruguay (DPU) y el español. Esta situación influye en las valorizaciones que hacen los hablantes de estas regiones sobre sus variedades. En este trabajo se propone un recorrido por las políticas lingüísticas impuestas por Uruguay y las repercusiones en las representaciones sociolingüísticas y las actitudes de los habitantes de la región fronteriza que poseen a los dialectos portugueses del Uruguay como lengua materna. Se trabajará sobre la correlación entre las representaciones sociolingüísticas negativas acerca de estas variedades y las legislaciones basadas en el purismo lingüístico y la visión correctiva de las variedades regionales; reglamentaciones que caracterizaron a las políticas educativas de Uruguay hasta fines del siglo XX y principios del siglo XXI. Por otra parte, se exponen los proyectos de educación propuestos como alternativas centradas en la revalorización e implementación de los dialectos portugueses del Uruguay para la educación formal y la identidad regional. Finalmente, se hará mención de la situación actual del sistema educativo con la implementación del programa de Inmersión Dual, dando cuenta de sus características, sus logros y los problemas que han surgido en la ejecución.

Las lesiones cerebrales (accidentes cerebro-vasculares, traumatismo de cráneo, demencia, etc.) pu... more Las lesiones cerebrales (accidentes cerebro-vasculares, traumatismo de cráneo, demencia, etc.) pueden afectar aislada o simultáneamente funciones como lenguaje, memoria, atención, etc. La decodificación lectora y la comprensión de textos también pueden afectarse por daño cerebral. La Neuropsicología ha abordado tempranamente el estudio de las alteraciones adquiridas de la decodificación lectora bajo el rótulo de alexias. Comparativamente, las alteraciones adquiridas de la comprensión de textos han recibido menos atención y sólo en años recientes. Naturalmente, toda alteración de la decodificación lectora (alexia) afecta la comprensión de textos pero hoy también se sabe que ciertas lesiones pueden comprometer la compresión de textos sin afectar la decodificación. La enorme importancia de la lectura para el desempeño de las personas en la sociedad contemporánea exige incluir la lectura y la comprensión de textos en la evaluación de los sujetos con daño cerebral. Nos propusimos presentar los datos normativos de una batería breve destinada a la detección de alteraciones de la comprensión de textos debidas a daño cerebral. Fueron evaluados 360 sujetos, agrupados en 4 franjas etarias y 3 grupos de escolaridad. Se les administró una batería breve de comprensión lectora compuesta por cuatro pruebas: el Test Colectivo de Eficacia Lectora y tres tests de comprensión de textos (uno narrativo y dos informativos) que se responden por múltiple choice con texto presente y tiempo libre. A partir de procesar estadísticamente el rendimiento de cada grupo de edad y escolaridad se obtuvieron las medias de rendimiento en cada prueba y medias de tiempo en las pruebas de comprensión de texto. Hemos obtenido un instrumento que nos permite evaluar la comprensión lectora en sujetos adultos y evitar que la evaluación de la lectura se reduzca solo a tareas de decodificación.

Un tema recurrente en la literatura psicolingüística es el papel que cumplen las vías subléxica... more Un tema recurrente en la literatura psicolingüística es el papel que cumplen las vías subléxicas de conversión en el sistema lingüístico, entendido en términos de modelo de doble ruta (Patterson et al. 1985; Coltheart et al. 1993; Miceli et al. 1994). En el caso de los trabajos abocados al español (Valle-Arroyo 1996; Cuetos y Domínguez 2002; Ferreres et al. 2003), se otorga a las vías subléxicas un rol importante en la lectura así como en la escritura; ya que, en tanto lengua transparente, las correspondencias uno a uno entre grafemas y fonemas en el español permiten que esta vía realice gran parte del procesamiento. La propuesta del presente trabajo consiste en analizar el papel que cumple esta vía de conversión fonema-grafema en la producción del lenguaje mediado por la computación. Sostenemos que las particularidades de este nuevo registro configuran un cambio en la forma de producción de los hispanohablantes, en tanto que las representaciones ortográficas de las palabras pasan a un segundo plano y en cuanto que se lleva a cabo una transcripción fonológica de las palabras. La rapidez del procesamiento a través de los mecanismos lexicales parece invertirse en este nuevo tipo de producción, dejando como vía de procesamiento prioritaria a los mecanismos de mediación fonológica. Nuestra hipótesis principal, en consecuencia, es que la producción del lenguaje mediada computacionalmente privilegia el uso de la vía subléxica de mediación fonológica, es decir, los mecanismos de conversión fonema-grafema; y este privilegio está motivado por las necesidades propias del registro que condicionan dicho uso. Sin embargo, relevaremos también las interferencias que el uso de la vía léxica origina en la producción, en tanto que las representaciones ortográficas siguen desempeñando un rol en la escritura y en cuanto que aparecen ambas formas (la fonológica y la ortográfica) en la producción de un mismo texto. Objetivos particulares para lograr esto son: 1) analizar cómo esta forma de producción impacta en la escritura no mediada computacionalmente, ya que los hablantes/escritores comienzan a manifestar inseguridades lingüísticas con respecto de la forma ortográfica normativa de las palabras; y 2) explicar cómo este proceso de cambio también influye en la perspectiva que tienen los propios hablantes de esta escritura, especialmente las valoraciones negativas que se asignan a las palabras escritas por mediación fonológica y no por su ortografía. Se trabajará con un corpus, cuyos datos fueron recolectados de distintas páginas de internet, en las que los informantes hispanohablantes interactúan lingüísticamente a partir del registro propio del uso del lenguaje mediado por la computación. Las conclusiones del presente trabajo mostrarán qué cambios lingüísticos se originan a partir de este registro en pleno desarrollo y qué efectos tiene en el proceso de producción esta mayor frecuencia de uso de las nuevas tecnologías.
