This paper presents the design and development of a universal, cost-effective and internet of thing (IoT)-based proof-of-concept prototype universal cyberphysical system (UniCPS) with a cloud platform with an open and modularbased design of three-tier system architecture. The prototype demonstrates promising precision and accuracy for predictive maintenance on a pilot use case with MAPE of 3.77%, and average RMSE of 0.50. Besides, real-time visualization and detection of anomaly were also demonstrated with a cloudbased solution. The maintenance alert sent out by the actuator serves to notify the authorized personnel immediately for corrective action. As an extension to this work, a wireless sensor network can be incorporated in future work to acquire various data from diverse locations to overcome the limitations of sensor data.

With the advancements in mobile and networking technology, it is now possible to deliver the right content and services based on the learner's learning context. In this paper, we define context as the information about the learner and its interaction with the e-learning application. Through our study of some related work, we formulate a context reference model, which encompasses some common best practices of numerous context aware e-learning models. This reference model serves to fulfill some of the new requirements regarding contextualisation of learning resources. In the last section of this paper, we propose a service-oriented system architecture that will be implemented using Java Technology to verify and test the effects of learners' learning style as context in context aware e-learning for engineering education, particularly in a computer programming subject.

In this context, development efforts focus on features such as context-awareness, adaptation, services retrieval and orchestration mechanisms. This paper proposes a process to assist the development of such systems, from conception through to execution. This paper focuses mainly on pervasive TEL systems in a learning situation at the workplace. We introduce a context-aware scenario model of corporate learning and working scenarios in e-retail environments such as shops and hypermarkets. This model enables us to integrate contextual information into scenarios and to select how to perform activities according to the current situation. Our pervasive learning system is based on a service oriented architecture that consists of an infrastructure for service management and execution that is flexible enough to reuse learning components and to deal with context changes that are not known in advance a...

However, these data are not readily analyzable due to the heterogeneity of data types and formats from “vertical silos” smart city systems. In this paper, the existing related work in progress of smart city data sharing and integration are enumerated and the key technical challenges and limitations are identified and highlighted. We propose a bottom-up publish/subscribe data sharing and integration model to overcome the technical challenges and limitations in cross-domain integration of smart city data. A data representation scheme and Application Programming Interface (API) based prototype application are currently under development. The proposed model shows a promising prospect for facilitating smart city data sharing and extraction, transformation and loading when fully impl...
