Palavras-chave: queimada, fertilidade do solo, manejo cultural.

ABSTRACT: Fire is a management tool for various types of ecosystems, it acts as an important soil mineralization agent. The objective of this study was to compare the effect of burning under the ground in two areas of cultivation. The study setting was a corn crop, consisting of four management systems: soil without revolved not burning (SSQNR) and upturned soil without burning (SSQR); a soil with no upturned burning (SCQNR) and an upturned soil with burning (SCQR). To determine the chemical properties, organic carbon content and soil organic matter, soil samples were collected in depth from 0.0-0.05 and 0.10-0.20 m. There was no interaction between the types of soil management for nutrients K, Al, Ca, Mg, Ca + Mg for relationships, H + Al, MO, CO and Al saturation (m%). As a function of burning, there was significant difference when used the Tukey test at 5% probability relative depth to the organic matter, K, Ca, Mg, Al, Ca + Mg and CO.
Keywords: burned, soil fertility, cultural management.

In Brazil, the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is in one of the most representative farms, not only by the area under cultivation as well as the value of production. Thus, in the agricultural year 2010/2011, the Foundation of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) Campus de Chapadão do Sul, we studied the variability and spatial dependence between physical properties of the soil and grain yield common bean under conventional tillage in Oxisol of Chapadão do Sul, Northeast region of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. We also studied the linear and spatial correlations between these attributes, investigating conditions that provide increased agricultural productivity. For this, the area with the cultivation of common bean under conventional tillage installed a mesh containing 121 sampling points, with spacing of 5.0 x 5.0 m between them, a total area of 1600 m2. The grain yield common bean, with high variability, was found to average national standards. However, variability ...

This work aimed to evaluate some physical attributes and their correlation with production of soybean (Glycine max) and rice (Oryza sativa) in three levels of soil compaction and two water contents (tension of 0.01 and 0.05MPa), with three replications. Samples of a Haplustox and a Eutrustox were collected at 0-20cm depth and compacted in layers of 3cm in pots of 9.82L. The total porosity, macro and microporosity, bulk density, penetration resistance and soybean and rice grain production were evaluated. The physical attributes presented high and significant correlations among them for all soils na water contents. The greater correlations of physical attributes with soybean and rice grain production were obtained in Haplustox at water content at 0.05MPa, condition where greater reduction of grains production with increase of compaction occurred. The correlations of macroporosity and total porosity with grain production of both crops were positive, while microporosity, bulk density an...

Inadequate handling leads to the degradation and the decrease in the yield of many crops. The objective of this work was to evaluate the alterations in the resistance to penetration and density of soil due to systems tillage, during and after the intensive cultivation and after five years of fallow in a Red Eutrophic Latosol (Eutrudox). Two tillage systems (tillage with harrow plow and reduced tillage with rotary tilling) and three sampling times comprising the agricultural years 1992/1993, 1993/1994 (under intense cultivation) and 1999/2000 (five years under fallow) were studied. For the evaluation of the systems of tillage at different times of samplings, the resistance to penetration and the density of soil were used as parameters. The systems of tillage affected significantly the resistance to penetration and density of soil in the studied depths. Insoil submitted to long fallow period, the resistance to penetration increased significantly, compared to the soil under intense cul...

This work aimed to evaluate the effect of two methods of sampling, in an area planted with sugarcane, on the chemical soil properties, after acidity corrective treatments. The first method consisted of soil sampling in 30% of the collection points located at the line and 70% between the line (LE). The second method consisted of soil sampling in 100% of the points located at the position between the line (E), and of the combination of two sources of corrective agents, scoria and limestone, in correction levels of V% to 50, to 75 and to 100, in addition to one control without correction. Soil sampling according to the method LE overrated the potential acidity, while the soil sampling between the line showed a better adjustment of data for the determination of pH, H + Al, Ca, Mg and V% of the soil.

This study aimed to evaluate the development of Bixa orellana L. under nursery conditions and subjected to the effects of mycorrhizal inoculation and phosphate fertilization. The plants were grown in polyethylene bags with dimensions of 0.18 x 0.30 m and capacity of 1.3 kg substrate. The adopted experimental design was completely randomized with six treatments and thirty replicates. The used phosphorus levels were 0, 4.200 and 8.400 g m-3 substrate. The arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (AMF) of the species Glomus clarum was used in half of the treatments (with and without mycorrhizae) with inoculation of 2 g of the fungus. Evaluations occurred at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days after the emergence of seedlings. Leaf dry mass, leaf area, total dry mass, leaf area ratio, specific leaf area, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate and absolute growth rate were determined. The mycorrhizal fungus facilitates phosphorus uptake by annatto, fulfilling its requirement for the nutrient. The phosphor...

ABSTRACT – the objective of the present study was to assess the effect of rubber tree inter row management on chemical properties of the soil, nutrient concentrations and development of rubber trees. Rubber trees (PB 235 and 701) were planted on red latossol, in 1992 – Jaboticabal-SP. The treatments consisted of managing rows with harrow, mowing and tropical kudzu (Pueraria phaseoloides) cover crop. After eight years, some chemical properties of the soil were analyzed (pH, O.M., H+Al, Ca +2 , Mg +2 , K + and P) between rows, the tree nutrient concentrations as well as diameter at breast height were assessed. The different management types between rows affected all the chemical attributes of soil only in the superficial layer (0-20 cm depth) analyzed. The management between rows with mowing was found to be important for the soil-tree system. The influence of the management between rows on tree nutrition depends on the clone used for the production system.
