As we have noticed from our own classroom experiences, children often find it difficult to identify the adequate operations learned in mathematics class when they are solving mechanical-operators problems in Technology class. We wanted to design a project that exploits the idea of a hands-on relationship between mathematics and technology to teach students the concept of "transmission coefficient" in schools. The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) and the American Venous Forum (AVF) have developed clinical practice guidelines for the care of patients with varicose veins of the lower limbs and pelvis. The document also includes recommendations on the management of superficial and perforating vein incompetence in patients with associated, more advanced chronic venous diseases (CVDs), including edema, skin changes, or venous ulcers. Recommendations of the Venous Guideline Committee are based on the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system as strong (GRADE 1) if the benefits clearly outweigh the risks, burden, and costs. Our purpose was to bridge mathematical knowledge and mechanical parts in technological devices. Our belief was that visual-tangible representations enhance human cognition by scaffolding the information process. We supplied a kit with rubber foam (Fomi) and balsa wood parts to construct an analogical clock. This included a series of gears to work with three different ratios. The project was conducted in 2007 and 2008, with 38 students ranging from 10 to 14 years of age. The students were from the 5th and 7th grades in two different schools. The project included six stages of both theory and hands-on work. In a final stage, the students were given a written test. All students were able to make workable systems of their design for a time-measuring device. This proved important for technological education. On the other hand, manipulating gears along with visual reasoning strategies allowed all students to achieve an understanding of operations with fractions. We think this is a major achievement in mathematical education.

Objective: To explore the impact of applying the GRADE approach to assess the certainty of the evidence in a published network meta-analysis (NMA) of antidepressant therapies.
Study design and settings: We applied the GRADE approach to rate the certainty of the evidence for two outcomes, efficacy and acceptability, in each of the 66 paired comparisons within a previously published NMA assessing the relative efficacy and acceptability of 12 new-generation antidepressants.
Results: For the outcome of efficacy, of the 25 comparisons in which the 95% CrI of OR excluded 1, 18 had certainty of evidence rated high or moderate. For the outcome of acceptability, of the 13 comparisons whose 95% CrI excluded 1, 10 had certainty of evidence rated high or moderate. Of the 11 comparisons involving sertraline, the antidepressants that the authors of the NMA suggested to be best only 3 demonstrated it to be more effective and only 3 showed better tolerance, based on a 95% CrI excluding 1 and a high or moderate rating of certainty.
Conclusions: In this example, application of GRADE highlighted varying evidence certainty, led to more conservative conclusions, and potentially avoided unwarranted strong inferences based on low certainty evidence.

Three contexts that make up girls ' sexual health are explored: (1) Individual aspects are investigated using the Sexual Self-Concept Scale; (2) Relational aspects are evaluated using two sets of items created for this study; (3) The sociocultural context of sexual health is described. Working within an ecological model, this research is anchored in a feminist social constructionist analysis. Sexual health is defined as the ability to know and accept one's own feelings and to make responsible and safe choices. ABSTRACT This paper describes the complex arrangement of faults and dismembered ophiolites defined by geological mapping or interpreted from Landsat MSS imagery in the Mozambique Orogenic belt of southern Ethiopia. These rocks display the deep-rooted structures of collision zones. Metamorphic grade reached the amphibolite or locally the granulite facies; retrogression to greenschist facies occurs. In the description of the ophiolites, the problem of the location, orientation, and possible linkage of these masses is discussed; low- to high-angle fault (or shear-zone) orientations are presented. The faults were developed largely in a ductile regime and produced a wide range of mylonitic textures. The tectonic history started with a collision (Sabachian events > 826 Ma) followed by strike-slip faulting of basement rocks (a second orogeny <620,>530 Ma). These later events are expressed as: (i) early shears (Baragoian event, 620 Ma); (ii) late shears (Barsaloian event, 570 Ma) which trend north to northwest and have generally straight trends. The early and late shears formed upright folds, open and tight, respectively; (iii) in the southern region, northwest-trending reactivated shears produced gentle refolding and small-scale thrusting (Loldaikan-Kipsingian events 530 Ma). North- and northwest-trending shear zones (<620, > 530 Ma) are interpreted to be the reactivated surface expression of lateral and frontal ramps formed during the collision (> 826 Ma) between the Mozambique Orogenic belt/Arabian-Nubian shield and the old African continent.

This study particularly addresses the difficulty of learners in grammar and sentence construction, which were remarkably noticed on submitted outputs during the first few months of implementing distance-learning modalities at Tangway Elementary School. The main goal is to document how to improve the academic performance in the English Subject of Grade 6 Learners at Tangway Elementary School during the school year 2020-2021. This study used a pretest and post-test design with the utilization of the teacher-constructed Self-Learning EKEEP Modules. Scan to discover online Background & Objective: Urothelial carcinoma is the seventh most common cancer in the world. The histological classification of papillary carcinoma is one of the most important determinants for its prognosis. Sometimes there is an overlap in the extent of the tumor, and the accurate microscopic diagnosis of the tumor is not always easy. The aim of this study was to evaluate P53 and CK20 immunohistochemical markers in comparison with morphologic findings in low-and high-grade urothelial carcinomas. Methods: For this descriptive study, urinary bladder samples were collected from 50 cancer patients who had undergone biopsy and surgery in Shohaday-e Tajrish Hospital of Tehran, Iran, during the years 2015-2016. P53 and CK20 were studied, and the demographic and histopathological characteristics of the tumor were also analysed. Results: The mean age of patients enrolled in this study (48 males and 2 females) was 65.8±11.9. Twenty-five cases presented with low-grade and 25 cases presented with high-grade papillary urothelial carcinomas. Sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values for P53 were 48%, 80%, 70.5%, and 60.6%, respectively, while the same values for CK20 were 44%, 92%, 84.6%, and 62.2%, respectively. Immunohistochemical results were also positively correlated with the extent of the tumor. Conclusion: Based on the results, P53 and CK20 may serve as specific markers for diagnosis of low-and high-grade papillary urothelial carcinoma but not sensitive. P53 and ck20 staining have also a high specificity as 80% and 92% and low sensitivity compared to the low and high morphology of papillary carcinoma, thus their positive and their staining intensity are valuable for diagnosis, but their negative results are not determinant.
