Creazione locale di un mito adriatico-Alessio CONTE, Tra realtà e mito: la Dalmazia "regione italiana" nelle tesi di laurea Ideazione grafica: Domenico Dibello © In una recente pubblicazione, Egidio Ivetic ha definito l'Adriatico come una regione storica del Mediterraneo, rivendicandone una unitarietà culturale e al tempo stesso transnazionale. Condiviso fra sette nazioni, l'Adriatico è stato oggetto d'attenzione da parte della storiografia per mezzo di innumerevoli pubblicazioni; tuttavia, solo recentemente gli studiosi si sono convinti della necessità di analizzarlo alla stregua di unico spazio territoriale, prediligendo solitamente la prospettiva di una delle entità statuali che nel corso dei secoli hanno dominato gran parte del suo litorale. Fra queste, Venezia appare indubbiamente come l'angolo di visuale privilegiato per chi volesse avvicinarsi alla 'storia adriatica' , almeno a partire dall'Alto Medioevo. La civiltà nata e sviluppatasi in laguna, le sue istituzioni, la sua potenza commerciale e militare costituirono in effetti un imprescindibile elemento di coesione per l'Adriatico, al punto da prolungarsi ben oltre la fine della Repubblica (1797). Se l'analisi del peso dell'esperienza veneziana sulla storia del 'Golfo di Venezia' ha conosciuto un grande sviluppo, anche di non molto tempo fa (si pensi alle ricerche sull'élite zaratina di Stephan Sander-Faes), minore attenzione è stata data alla ricezione, alla diffusione e alla rimodulazione del mito veneziano in relazione alle differenti realtà dell'Adriatico, in differenti tempi. Obbiettivo di questo panel, allora, è cercare di cogliere le affinità e le discontinuità fra il mito veneziano strictu sensu e la narrazione del mito (più generale) adriatico, nel tentativo di giungere alla definizione di una nuova e più profonda comprensione del fenomeno mitico legato allo spazio marittimo: non più solo come espressione della cultura e dell'influenza politica della Serenissima, ma come vera e propria piattaforma comunicativa fra i diversi attori e società affacciate sul mondo adriatico.
