Monitoring the environmental parameters in active industrial areas where there are potential sources of pollution and, especially in the area of decommissioned or closed mining activities, is very important for the prevention of environmental accidents and for ensuring a suitable working environment for workers in one factory located in that area. In this paper, we propose a solution for monitoring the environmental parameters regarding air quality. After the data is acquired with the help of air quality sensors, they are sent using a LoRa type radio communication to a higher hierarchical level where it is processed and potential alerts for exceeding certain critical thresholds of the values can be issued. The whole autonomous system can be located in an industrial hall and in the test phase it has an autonomy of about eight hours. The monitoring equipment consists of sensors connected to LoRa modules. The communication between the sensors and these modules is done through a standard serial protocol. LoRa modules send data to a gateway system using a LoRaWAN protocol. This flexible structure represents a concept of hardware and software development that presents the possibility of being integrated into the national air quality monitoring network.

In this paper we present an application, written in LabVIEW, through which it can observe, by means of webcam, the effects of commands placed via TCP / IP. As example, we considered a system of a traffic light intersection. To achieve application is used NI USB6008 module placed behind a Web server in order to simulate and in the future to create the smart grids. Using the capabilities of the Web servers and the LabVIEW software it can be possible to train users into a virtual lab.

This paper we propose a solution to realize of a mobile system for traffic management by counting the number of vehicles on a road with one or two lanes. The traffic intensity is measured using the transducers based on sonar principle. The acquired data are local stored into a local data logger and simultaneous are transmitted via radio communication to a dedicated server. The novelty of this system is represented by the communication facility provided by the new LoRa technology. Also, it is highlights that this system is mobile and it is not invasive on the road structure.

The monitoring of environmental parameters in industrial areas where potential sources of pollution exist is very important from the point of view of prevention of environmental accidents. In this paper, we propose a solution for the monitoring of the environmental parameters with the local acquisition through specific environmental and movement sensors and data transmission to a higher hierarchical level through the use of MODBUS communications. A flexible hardware structure and software development concept are presented to offer local information and to be integrated into an environmental quality monitoring network.

In this paper we propose the algorithms that can be used to determine the values for several parameters that characterize the dynamic regime of operation of a DC motor. These parameters values are determined by simulation based on a state-space model by means of a virtual instrument made in LabView. In this way is possible to observe the dynamic characteristics of the DC motor in different operating conditions.

In this paper we propose an application written in LabVIEW through which a number of transducers or sensors are controlled so that the data from them are taken according to a certain algorithm and also this application realize the data processing. Control consists in selection for each of these transducers, their inputs selection and retrieves information from them. The physical connection between used transducers and master is made through RS-485 bus and the transmission protocol used is Modbus RTU.

One of the most used actuators in control systems is a direct current (DC) motor. The general output variable of this actuator can be angular speed or angular displacement motion, but, coupled with wheels or drums and cables, can provide translation motion. This paper proposes a state±space model of the DC motor built for constant flux and considering two inputs: supply voltage and resistive torque. The three states of the resulting model are represented by angular speed, angular displacement and current supply and any of these states can be an output variable for a simulation model. Consequently, the system's model has two inputs and three outputs. This paper presents the simulation of the flux and of an induction motor rotor’s speed estimator using the graphical programming language LabView. Also, in this paper it is realized a study of the Luenberger estimator’s and extended Luenberger estimator’s. For this, it’s created a virtual instrument using LabView for the grapfical interface and Control Design and Simulation Module for LabView to implement the model of the induction motor and of the Luenberger estimator in order to realize the simulations. The monitoring of environmental parameters in active industrial areas where there exist potential sources of pollution, and even more so in the area of decommissioned or closure mining activities, is very important from the point of view of prevention of environmental accidents. In this paper, we propose a solution for the monitoring of the environmental parameters with the local acquisition and processing of the data and the transmission of alarm signals to a higher hierarchical level through the use of radio communications. A flexible hardware structure and software development concept are presented to be integrated into the national air quality monitoring network.

This chapter proposed a state – space model for the DC motor built for separately excited voltage and considering two inputs: supply voltage and load torque. The three states of the resulted model are represented by angular speed, angular displacement, and current supply and either of these states can be an output variable for the simulation model. Consequently, the system’s model has two inputs and three outputs. Using this model, LabVIEW functions and programming structure a simulator based on the virtual instrument is built, through which is possible to observe the dynamic characteristics of the DC motor in different operating conditions. In this way, students can verify, by simulation, the operation of the DC motor as a dynamic system observing and measuring its reaction in different operating conditions.
