The following is a report for analysis of a 2-storey steel framed building using STAAD-PRO software. The frame with specified geometry experienced live load, brick wall dead load, beam line & point loads, and wind load. The structure was analysed based on two load combination cases; 1) vertical design loads on whole structure, 2) vertical design loads on whole structure + horizontal wind load. Shear force diagrams and bending moment diagrams were produced for both load combinations.

Urban storm water collection and conveyance systems are important components of urban infrastructure. The system comprises of street gutters, street inlets and storm drains. Street gutters collect runoff from the street and direct it to the street inlets. The street inlets intercept excess storm water from the street and transition it into storm drains. The storm drains then channel storm water into management facility or receiving water body. The primary function of the system is to collect excess storm water in street gutters, convey it through storm drains and along the street, and discharge it into a detention basin. A functioning storm water collection system would promote safe passage of vehicular traffic during minor storm events, maintain public safety, manage flooding during major storm events, and minimize maintenance costs of the system. Proper design is essential to minimize flood damage and limit road disruptions. One of the design factors that can be taken into consideration is the design of the street inlets. The street inlet design can affect the effectiveness of the system by influencing the intercepted and bypass storm water flow.
During my degree course in Civil Engineering Drawing, my team mates and I successfully developed a technical drawing of a double storey house plan using AutoCAD 2017
