Investigative works spanned the entire area of the plot 18 x 30 m in size, making it possible to establish the history of land use and material culture of the inhabitants of this former town (bourgeois) site. Study works pointed to 7 chronological stages in local land use from the oldest associated with a burial site in use in the early centuries AD, then layers associated with the existence of a pre-incorporation rights ducal village dated to the late 12th to early 14th century. The next five successive phases are tied to urban incorporation rights. The two earlier ones were dated to late-medieval times, and three younger to post-medieval and contemporary times. Documented features included, i.a., remnants of housing and outbuildings. The rear section was occupied by a latrine, well, and a small area used in all likelihood as a garden or animal enclosure. The land was divided into five plots. Over 110,000 findings were discovered during the excavations.

Although the analysed part of Człuchów castle had an auxiliary function to the central part of the fortress, it played an important role because the buildings of monastic administration were located here and due to communication with other parts of the castle. This function changed in early modern times.

Tradition and Innovation", features contributions focused on early-modern ceramics, the majority of which were found across present-day Poland and Czechia. Most of the papers concentrate on synchronic and antithetical processes occurring in pottery-making between the 16th and 18th centuries. These processes were marked with continuity, the persistence of older traditions in technology, style, and ornamentation but at the same time brought about changes involving innovations in the aforementioned areas introduced during the period under discussion. Recognition of these phenomena and demonstrating their bipolarity, that is their distinctiveness and tight relationship, have been the primary goal of the present publication.
Continuation or Evolution? Changes in Pottery Production and Vessel Types Used in Pomerelian (Gdańsk Pomerania) Towns in the Early-Modern Period, 2021

These considerations are based on advanced research on late-medieval pottery-making of the region and the relatively poorer state of knowledge about the continuity of transformations at the beginning of the early-modern period. The vantage point for this study is a characterisation of the source base, including both the artefactual and written evidence. This enables the tracing of changes, and characteristic features of goods used, in the 16th century.

Although small urban centres in Pomerelia (also known as Gdańsk Pomerania) were located off the main trade routes and in the hinterland of the Hanseatic world, archaeological excavations have revealed numerous remains related to the Hanseatic way of life. The analysis of buildings, pottery, glassware, and metalware reveal the Baltic towns’ participation in urban culture, providing an insight into the status of the smaller towns in relation to the main trade centres of the Baltic Sea.

ćwierć i 2. połowę XVI wieku. Umożliwiło to podjęcie problematyki dotyczącej przemian w miejscowej produkcji garncarskiej u progu czasów nowożytnych.

This study is devoted to monographic analysis of late-medieval pottery products from Puck, a rich collection of which has been derived in course of archeological investigations carried out there over the last twenty years. Archaeological research results at the market square of chartered town in Puck have been presented in this publication, integrated with information available from written sources relating to history of the town. Archaeological and architectural analysis of the uncovered town hall remains allowed distinguishing of individual usage phases, development and planning out of the object. Finally, the rich collection of movable historical artifacts recovered during the excavations was analyzed; the collection comprised some eighty thousand findings of various categories, allowing discussion of the material culture of town inhabitants and furnishings of the old town hall.
