Edge is a kinetic, sound and light object. This work is dedicated to the city of Almaty, where I lived for a year. The object is inspired by the modernist heritage of Kazakhstan, the Medeu stadium, the mountains, reflections of light, the rhythm and dynamics of the city and its inhabitants.


In the center of the installation, there is a rotating artificial crystal that is illuminated by several sources. Around it are several static mirrors at different angles and sizes, as well as two rotating asymmetric mirrors. Together, this system creates numerous reflections, which sometimes hit a small light sensor, triggering changes in the sound of the installation.
