Long term follow-up of sacrocolpopexy mesh implants at two time intervals at least one year apart using 4D transperineal ultrasound2016 •
To determine, using 4D-transperineal ultrasound, whether sacrocolpopexy mesh implants change in their appearance, position, dimensions, and degree of tissue support over long term follow-up. Women who underwent minimally invasive abdominal sacrocolpopexy were invited for clinical audit at two consecutive visits at least one year apart. All participants completed a PFDI20 questionnaire, underwent a pelvic examination, and 4D volumes were obtained by a different operator. Volumes were analyzed offline for mesh position at rest and on maximal Valsalva, and for mesh dimensions and characteristics on all 3D orthogonal planes and rendered views, with the operator blinded to the clinical data. Statistical analysis compared data from the two visits using SPSS with P < 0.05 for significance. Thirty women attended the audit at two time points at a median of 22 (12-37) months apart. The median age at the last visit was 60 years (range: 46-72), median BMI 25.9 kg/m(2) (range: 20.8-31.9), med...

Dante Speaks from the Tomb: The Epitaph on the Monument in Ravenna and Veneto Epigraphy2016 •
In the six-line epitaph spread out on the sarcophagus of the tomb, Dante speaks directly to the viewer, telling of his journey "until a part of me found refuge in better camps." The letters of the epitaph, indebted to antique Roman letter forms, belong to the far-reaching investigation of letter forms that takes place in the Veneto during the second half of the 15th century. The article emphasizes the way in which epigraphy, calligraphy and archeology are intertwined in this exploration.
