En este artículo se estudia la teoría gramatical de Chalumeau de Verneuil, académico honorario de la Real Academia Española que en 1821 publica la traducción al francés de la cuarta edición de la GRAE (1796) con enmiendas y anotaciones, y añade en tomo aparte unas Remarques détachées, concebidas dentro del marco de la gramática general, con las que trata de poner el texto académico en sintonía con la gramática que se estaba haciendo por aquellos años en las naciones más adelantadas de Europa, especialmente en Francia. La obra, que produjo un gran impacto en el extranjero, fue tenida en cuenta por los miembros de la corporación en el proceso de reforma de la nueva edición de la GRAE (1854).

Transcurridos 35 años y 34 días de la tarde en que John F. Kennedy habló ante el público de Berlín, en plena Guerra Fría, otro político norteamericano ha vuelto a escoger esta locación para mandar un mensaje al mundo, y muy especialmente a Europa. Barack Obama, candidato a la presidencia de su país por el Partido Demócrata, amante de las jugadas atrevidas y simbólicas, autoproclamado heredero de la saga de Camelot, ha reunido a más de cien mil personas, en su mayoría jóvenes, alrededor de la Columna de la Victoria. En su discurso del 24 de julio del presente año, el triple de extenso del que pronunciase Kennedy el 20 de junio de 1963, Obama ha definido tres veces más problemas, peligros y desafíos que se alzan ante los Estados Unidos y Europa de cara al Tercer Milenio, y ha derrochado elocuencia y buena oratoria para formular el triple de promesas que su predecesor. Lo primero que salta a la vista, si comparamos ambos textos, como he tenido ocasión de hacer, es que los Estados Unidos, supuesto vencedor absoluto de la Guerra Fría que Kennedy fue a atizar al borde delantero del campo de batalla donde se enfrentaban entonces los dos sistemas opuestos. lejos de alcanzar la consolidación de su poder en el mundo unipolar, se muestra más nervioso y agobiado que nunca antes, cercado de enemigos, reales e imaginarios, contra las que no está en condiciones de luchar aisladamente. Lo segundo es que esa debilidad manifiesta, con ribetes de decadencia inexorable, ha provocado que el discurso imperial se torne melifluo y melancólico, usurpando oportunistamente una buena parte de las ideas y propuestas que la lucha de los pueblos revolucionarios ha enarbolado en décadas anteriores y contra las que los gobiernos imperiales, desde Kennedy hasta George W. Bush, movilizasen intervenciones militares y sindicatos amarillos, escuadrones de la muerte, bloqueos y tiranos. Estudiando el discurso de Barack Obama, los motivos que provocaron en 1963 el viaje de Kennedy a Berlín parecen hoy infantiles, casi simbólicos. "Hay mucha gente en el mundo que no entiende, o dice no entender cuál es el gran problema que enfrenta al comunismo con el mundo libre-explicaba el entonces Presidente de los Estados Unidos-Dejemos que vengan a Berlín. Hace dos mil años se decía con orgullo "Civis Romanus sum". Hoy en el mundo libre se dice con orgullo: "Ich bin ein Berliner" La elocuencia de Kennedy, en su tiempo también famosa, ocultaba que los ciudadanos del Imperio romano, que con tanto orgullo lo proclamaban, asentaban su libertad sobre la esclavitud de decenas de pueblos conquistados por sus legiones y expresaban su civismo y alta cultura

L'abri-sous-roche de la Grande Rivoire est localisé sur la commune de Sassenage (Isère), dans le nord du massif du Vercors. Exposé plein sud à 580 mètres d'altitude, il abrite une surface au sol d'environ 75 mètres carrés (fig. 1). Son remplissage sédimentaire a enregistré sur plus de cinq mètres d'épaisseur 8 000 ans d'histoire humaine, depuis l'époque des derniers chasseurs du Mésolithique jusqu'aux premiers siècles de notre ère.
