The article describes applications of using voice recognition technology based on artificial intelligence to the educational process. The author presents a comparative analysis of existing examples artificial intelligence in the educational process. Artificial intelligence uses in specialized software it makes educational process more convenient for both the students and the teachers. There is a description of an application “Academic phrase bank" developed by author. The application consists of two specialising actions for Google assistant. The application allows to increase academic vocabulary, train of creating grammatically correct academic expressions, and memorize templates of academic phrases. In active mode, this application helps to create correct phrases of academic English and improve the abilities of understanding English speech.

This study explores the use of phrasal verbs in English language documents of the European Union (EU) as part of a larger-scale project examining the use of English in EU texts from various aspects including lexical, lexico-grammatical and textual features. Phrasal verbs, known to represent one of the most difficult aspects of learning English, are highly productive and widely used by native speakers. The purpose of this study is to identify the most frequent phrasal verb combinations in EU documents. To this end, an EU English Corpus of approximately 200,000 running words was built using texts which are representative of the fields of activities of the EU. The analysis revealed that the top 25 phrasal verbs account for more than 60% of all phrasal verb constructions in the corpus. The results also show that in terms of the frequency of phrasal verbs, EU documents show some similarity to written academic English. The paper also illustrates some instructional activities and the pedagogical relevance of the findings.

The term " text structure " refers to how information is organized in a passage. The structure of a text can change multiple times in a work and even within a paragraph. Students are often required to identify text structures on state reading tests; therefore, it is important that they are given exposure to the various patterns of organization. I rode my bike as fast as I could and thought that I was going to be late for sure, but when I got there everyone was outside and there were fire trucks all lined up in front of school. I guess somebody pulled the fire alarm before class started. It worked out though, because nobody really noticed or minded that I was tardy. Compare and Contrast: two or more things are described. Their similarities and differences are discussed. Example: Apples and oranges are both fruits, which means that they have seeds inside of them. Each has a skin, but orange skins are thick and easy to peel. Apple skins are thinner and do not peel easily. Oranges also contain more acid than apples, but both fruits are delicious. Order of Importance: information is expressed as a hierarchy or in priority. Example: The company has a clearly laid out hierarchy. All major decisions go through the president, who controls the entire operation, but most daily decisions go to the board. Beneath the board members are the regional managers, who oversee the branch managers, who run each local branch. Problem and Solution: a problem is described and a response or solution is proposed or explained.

With One Voice: Disambiguating Sung and Spoken Voices Through a Composer’s Experience.

Mary Midgley has pointed out how our drive towards specialisation has led us to value the differences between things over their connections. The voice is largely dislodged from educational development and has been divided by isolationist practices in and within music and speech. Technology has allowed microscopic details of the voice to become public property whilst the athletic, full-voiced singer moves ever closer to Lucie Manén’s  “…one timbre, according to their own psychological make-up.” I will discuss my experience of these issues in my work with singers of all styles, actors and the synthetic voice. . In relation to the title of this paper, I propose the disambiguation of spoken and sung words requires re-synthesis.

“Where are you from?” I wish I had a dollar for every time someone has asked me that question since moving to California. I would be able to make a substantial payment towards my student loan debt by now. No one knows I’m “different” here in SoCal until I open my mouth. My thick Southern accent happens to be my signifier.

Before I moved to Claremont to begin graduate school, I never considered my accent a problem. Despite the fact that when I moved outside of my hometown to college only two hours away, some of my friends teased me about my accent. Since I grew up in the very southwestern corner of Georgia, I lived right along the Alabama border. Some of my college friends from other regions of Georgia thought I sounded more Alabamian. Still, mostly everyone I went to college with had some form of a Southern accent and that was okay. It was safe. It was normative.
