— Soot blowing is an often neglected aspect of the operation of a pulverized coal boiler, yet the way Soot blowers are used can have a significant impact on the financial bottom line. Optimizing soot blowing practice can help reduce emissions and improve unit heat rate. In most pulverized coal boilers, slag from coal ash builds up on the walls of the furnace. Left unattended, the deposits can become unmanageable in size and require an expensive outage for removal. The deposits reduce the heat transfer rate in the water wall region, resulting in increased gas temperatures leaving the furnace. The long retractable soot blower consists of a lance tube with a nozzle at the end. When it is operated, the lance is extended into the boiler up to 8m leading to high amount of lateral or cantilever displacement acting on it. Sometimes the supporting rollers that provides inward and outward movement to the lance tube inside the boiler gets jam and works improperly and thereby inducing drag force and friction on the lance tube. Basically, this work deals with the failure analysis and design development of Long Retractable Soot Blower (LRSB).

Water is one of the main needs of living things, especially humans who need clean water for drinking, bathing, washing and other purposes. However, many regions have difficulties to get clean water, especially people who live on the beach, thus many experts try to process seawater into clean water which is worth drinking. One of the ways to process salt water into fresh water is by distillation. In this research, the author tries to distill water with the help of condenser. In this research, the author made an evaporation chamber of 80 cm x 100 cm x 30 cm. Through the use of solar-powered blower, vapor is inhaled from the evaporation chamber, therefore the pressure on the evaporation chamber will fall, so that the evaporation will occur much faster and the resulting vapor can be supplied to the condenser for cooling. From the test result using variation of blower rotation of 2800 rpm, 2200 rpm, and 1200 rpm, each condensate water produced from the distillation process are 215 ml/h, 410 ml/h, and 250 ml/hr. The condensate resulted from the highest rotation (2800 rpm) produces less condensate, thus based on our observation, we temporarily conclude that it occurs because there is water vapor coming out from the condensate, but more accurate research is needed to confirm it. Condensate of 410 ml/hour is still not as expected, thus this research will be continued in order to reach the expected result.

In this paper is describe simulation model for PET (polyethylene) wrapping materials production. Here is give description of multicompressor plant for production compressed air in PET bottle production. The procedure of determined compressor and blower combination is present to get optimal production process. For compressors and blowers working optimization is used software ARENA to determine optimal period of compressor turning on or turning off.

The pneumatic conveying characteristics of chickpea ( Cicer arietinum L.) of the variety Kocbasi were determined. The length, width, thickness, arithmetic mean diameter, geometric mean diameter, sphericity, volume, 1000 seed mass, bulk density, true density, porosity, projected area, terminal velocity, drag coefficient, pressure drop, power consumption, and seed damage, namely mechanical damage, germination test, and seed vigour index, were investigated experimentally. The positive low pressure system was used for the conveying of chickpeas. The power requirement and pressure drop were boosted with increasing the revolution of the blower and conveying capacity decreased with increasing pipe diameter. The highest pressure drop and power requirement were obtained for 54.5 mm pipe diameter, while the lowest pressure drop was found for 70.3 mm pipe diameter. The mechanical damage to the chickpeas for both pipe diameters increased as the revolution of the blower increased.
